I reinstalled on the C win XP partition along with SP2 (visible in the system)
wanting to install firefox pops up with the installation error "This version of ff requires a processor with support for Microsoft windows XP SP2" downloaded and installed via pendrive SP3, nothing changed. Most sites won't open, I can't download anything, neither java nor anything (there are two folders in the files program java 6 and 7).
I also can't register this XP (it's legal with key and sticker, was on this pc before formatting.
LAN settings are correct (as on the second pc with XP -IP auto, dns 8.8.8.8 alternative 8.8.4.4 (I have a netia, they gave me such), even on auto dns nothing works, the connection can be pinged, maybe some component is missing yet ?
A few years ago I installed xp many times on different pc's and never had such symptoms. Is it related to the lack of support from MS?
On another functional pc from xp, it also cannot connect to the MS site with updates.
I am asking for help, I have to run the pc for special tasks (speaker workshop, Holmimpulse), the internet will not be used intensively on it, only to download all the useful and necessary add-ons such as flashplayer, java, firefox, adobe reader, etc. Thread.
In the manager, you can see that the drivers for all the components of the board are ok (from windows) except for the SB-5.1 card for which I need to download and install them.

You need to download and install IE8 and windows update agent version 3.0.

The inability to open pages via ff is not related to the lack of wxp support.

always lights up such a black and white text page "the page cannot be displayed" (as in normal operation when the lan goes out, and the advice "to try to solve the problems ..."
for example, I can go to the electrode but the image is not as it should be.
other pages don't go at all just this message. The mozilla installer says:
"... with support for Microsoft Windows XP SP2.
Click Ok for additional information "
clicks Ok and the browser page lights up again with this "i" unable to display the page

You need to download and install IE8 and windows update agent version 3.0.

    I understand internet explorer?

When I open the explorer (there is 6, it shows a message that the security level ... etc -to download 8), after clicking on the link, a gazeta.pl page opens and cannot display the page again, a vicious circle.
So download explorer 8 on another pc and install it from a pendrive?
And if I want to use firefox, do I have to install it?
Google chrome also does not go, because see point 1

Get the plate with SP3 and install it clean, because something is clearly wrong.

    It's rather obvious :D
Unfortunately, WU requires IE, unless we only use automatic updates.

As for opening pages in FF, you had to make sure that the date / time is correct.
Besides, what's on the other side of the -router network cable? What is your network card? Why are you setting DNS? Set everything to auto. In cmd, type ipconfig / all and upload the screen with the result.

After unchecking SSL 2.0 3.0 it went, I didn't update IE but downloaded Firefox under XP right away, now everything is flashing. Thank you for your help.
In the TCP / IP settings, I have already combined with various settings, not only auto,
    to make it work

When you have everything installed and running, it is worth taking a partition image.
Bringing everything back to its original state later is a fairy tale.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues faced after reinstalling Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) and subsequent attempts to upgrade to Service Pack 3 (SP3). The user encounters installation errors with Firefox, which states it requires a processor supporting Windows XP SP2, and experiences connectivity problems, preventing access to various websites and downloads. Suggestions include installing Internet Explorer 8 and the Windows Update Agent version 3.0, adjusting Internet Explorer settings to disable SSL 2.0 and enable TLS 1.0, and ensuring correct date and time settings. The user eventually resolves some issues by modifying TCP/IP settings and successfully installs Firefox. The importance of creating a partition image after resolving the issues is also highlighted.
