    Hello

I bought a VGA to HDMI converter. I have connected and working. Testing different variants, different cables, a problem has arisen.

When we plug in the cable with the HDMI plug, which is finished with a DVI plug, and connect the DVI to the Samsung F2380 monitor, the screen has a black image.

When we remove such a DVI from the Samsung monitor, when we plug into the DVI plug, the adapter to get HDMI, and put the HDMI into a Toshiba TV, it works.

The question is, why do not I have a picture on a Samsung F2380 monitor?

Will I get a picture via this VGA input on the Samsung F2380 monitor by purchasing the DVI to VGA adapter and attaching it to the Samsung monitor?

Samsung F2380 has three inputs. Two DVI and one VGA. At the moment, as I tested it, the threads of this DVI. So I have to buy the adapter so that DVI can change to VGA via adapter. I know that many of these adapters, but in fact I have no idea what to do.

I used the UTP cable before, but it turned out to be miserable. Streaks on the image, etc.

This converter what I bought, nicely changes the analogue image, into digital and as a result, it seems that the purchase was the best. The problem is that there is no picture on the Samsung F2380 monitor. When you connect a Toshiba TV with HDMI not DVI input, it works very nicely.

Will the DVI to VGA adapter included in the attachment solve my problem?

You can not connect HDMI via the adapter to the monitor? Is this connection not working? What is your graphics card?

Computer (https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AT5NM10I/) - I work only on the VGA output from this computer.

A set of my cables for combining:

    HDMI ------------------------------------------------- DVI
    HDMI ------------------------------------------------- HDMI

    HDMI ------------------------------------------------- DVI + adapter = HDMI

    DVI ------------------------------------------------- DVI

I do not have others. I have three adapters in a box that change DVI to HDMI.

Also what I have, plug in, check and nothing. And when connecting to a Toshiba TV, even through different combinations, the picture is still there. Maybe this Samsung F2380 has a problem with something?

After all, this monitor has a D-SUB input, so why do not you just use this cable instead of combining like a horse uphill?

So buy a good quality cable or use twisted pair transmitters - only good quality.

Your advice is a worse / more expensive solution. I have 12 meters and a very good image on the current screen, and ordinary cables, only it works only on Toshiba, which has an HDMI input. Toshiba also swallows a DVI to HDMI adapter. (vga computer -> converter -> hdmi ------------------ 10 meters --------------------- DVI + adapter -> HDMI -> Toshiba (and works) Without combining on another cable also.

For example AUDA cables 10 meters are about 130-150 PLN for allegro. I gave 40 PLN for the converter with the shipment.

I bought an Extender one day or somehow twisted. I also have a streak to the right.

So maybe the monitor has a damaged VGA input?
The question what type of DVI inputs has a monitor.

The VGA seems to be working, because on a standard 1.5 meter cable the picture is decent as for vga. I tested this Extender mentioned on the twisted pair, on other receivers and the effect was the same, streak. On shorter cables, the picture was better, decent.

What is about the Samsung F2380 I do not know what DVI is there, but I know that all its inputs must be functional, because I tested all of them from another computer.

A moment ago I took this converter for a second older Toshiba song on the same HDMI cable and the image does not exist at all. In turn, the newer Toshiba has a picture after HDMI. I used the same short HDMI cable without adapters, plus of course the purchased VGA to HDMI converter.

Maybe the cable version counts, or I do not know the version of the HDMI inputs ...

Coming back to the topic, the converter will ultimately operate on a Samsung F2380 monitor, where there is only a black image, after connecting the device.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a user's experience with a VGA to HDMI converter that works with a Toshiba TV but fails to display an image on a Samsung F2380 monitor when using a DVI connection. The user has tested various cables and configurations, confirming that the VGA input on the Samsung monitor functions correctly with a short cable. However, longer cables introduce image distortion. Suggestions include checking the monitor's DVI input type and considering the possibility of a damaged VGA input. The user contemplates purchasing a DVI to VGA adapter to connect to the monitor but is uncertain about the effectiveness of this solution.
