    Hello,

I have 120 Mb internet connected a few days ago / s from UPC. On the cable without any reservations pulls 110-120 Mb / s, on the phone after WiFi similarly. After WiFi on a PC with a TP LINK TL-WN725N adapter I achieve speeds of 8-10 Mb / s and on a laptop the same. I got a Connect Box from UPC.

I called UPC yesterday, restarted the entire network and the consultant said that everything should work as it should. What is the problem and how to solve it, please help.

    best regards

How did you measure the speed on your computer?

Speedtest and speed test on the UPC website.

10Mbps is actually not enough. The card should theoretically provide 60-70Mbps. What connection speed does Windows show in connection properties?

In the iPhone, you have the AC866 network adapter (i.e. with MIMO2x2), which can work in the 5GHz band, and the cradle N150 (without MIMO) card works only in the mercilessly crowded 2.4GHz band. Don't expect comparable results on your iPhone and computer in this situation.

It is not known what the signal level on the PC is and how strong the competition is. The block from UPC is probably a lot of competition.
In the block (plunger!), In the 2.4GHz band, the card without MIMO, away from the router, with the PC pressed into the corner, do not expect much more than these 10Mbps.
Connect some AC866 adapter (to USB3.0 ofc port).

And on something like this a colleague wants to have 120 Mb - forget it.
If it's a PC, buy a real network card with antennas / external antenna for 2.4 and 5 GHz band.

He also has no external antennas.
And as already indicated - the 2.4 GHz band collapsed to the limit.

The network card for the PC and laptop should already support 5 GHz.

Topic summary

The user reports experiencing significantly lower WiFi speeds on their PC (8-10 Mbps) compared to their phone (iPhone 6s) which achieves speeds close to their 120 Mbps internet plan from UPC. Despite confirming with UPC that the network is functioning correctly, the user seeks assistance in diagnosing the issue. Responses suggest that the TP LINK TL-WN725N adapter may be limited by its 2.4GHz band capabilities and lack of MIMO technology, which could explain the poor performance compared to the iPhone's AC866 adapter that operates on the 5GHz band. Recommendations include upgrading to a more capable network card that supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands to improve connectivity and speed.
