    Welcome.
I have a problem that arose out of nowhere. Recently, no win10 detects a pendrive or an external disk, but I can not read it in the windows exploit. I've tried reinstalling the USB drivers and tried to change the drive letter, but then it displays this message to me: Win10 - Detects an external drive / flash drive, but it can not be seen in the e
I was refreshing the list of disks as in the message, but it did not help.
I tried to restore the system to the last restore point and also did not work.
I scanned the computer to repair the registers - nothing more.
On other computers, flash drives and disks are read normally.
    Anyone have any idea yet?

I do not know if this matters, but the problem concerns the HP Pavilion x2 tablet, where the system is on the internal memory of ssd. Does CristalInfo also read ssd disks?

Check whether it displays the smart disk connected under the USB.

    CDI works with ssd disks.

The disk connected under USB reads without a problem:

In the afternoon he will use FIX, we'll see what he detects.

Subject resolved. Thank you very much for help :)
After running FIX, it showed me that the USB controller is malfunctioning. I found a solution to this microsoft support for this malfunction: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/8179...op-working-after-you-remove-or-insert-a-ususb --device
I went through all 3 steps and only after the third step, that is, uninstalling the controller and installing it again, and more precisely the controller's drivers, read the USB drive connected to it.

    Thank you for your help.

Topic summary

The user experienced an issue with Windows 10 not recognizing an external drive or flash drive, despite the system detecting it. Attempts to reinstall USB drivers, change drive letters, and restore the system were unsuccessful. Other computers recognized the drives without issues. Responses suggested using CrystalDiskInfo to check the drive's status, confirming that it works with SSDs. The problem was identified as related to eMMC storage, and a "FIX" for USB issues was recommended. After applying the fix, it was determined that the USB controller was malfunctioning. Following Microsoft's support steps to uninstall and reinstall the controller's drivers resolved the issue, allowing the USB drive to be recognized.
