From yesterday, I thought I had become a happy owner of Kiano 14.2 but only for a moment. I am coming back home, and here WiFi coverage is a tragedy. The router is max 10m from the laptop, as if it shows two to three lines, but it's a tragedy, sometimes it goes like that, once facebook loads 3 minutes. On the laptop that is next (Aspire 5349) everything goes smoothly without cuts, PS3 and TV also connects seamlessly with the router. I really did not have any requirements for this laptop, only to use the internet, but how to use it like WiFi is barely possible. Does anyone know if this is the case or is something wrong? Maybe some drivers?

Run the bootable linux and see if anything changes.

Used? Maybe it's not the fault of the antenna, it's a long load.
Post a SMART disk from CrystalDiskInfo.
Turn off power saving in the power options for the wi-fi card.

I do not know if everything in this KIANO is so "slim", there is no printed PCB on the PCB and that's it. Hence the problems.
10 meters is often too much for wi-fi, especially as it is wall on the way.
    Enter the router model.

How do I run this bootable linux?
Yes, the laptop has a month reportedly turned on 3 times since purchase, I got it not framed, before the format and after the format the internet goes the same.

    .

After downloading, CrystalDiskInfo does not detect the disk.

Unfortunately, I did not purge this possibility in Win10

I just took a test at a distance of not more than 4m from the router (there was no wall along the way). It looks as follows, on the speedtest.net website on an old laptop it shows 45mb of download and 8m of transmission while a few seconds after the end of the test on an old laptop I made on Kiano and shows 7m download and 8mb of upload.
The second test, somehow 7-8m from the router (wall on the way), the old laptop elegantly overcomes the speednet test 13mb download 6 transmissions and Kiano even does not want to fire the speedtest website (laptops were still around the same distance to the router) . The post I had to write on the old laptop because on the new and electrode does not want to load.

I would ask for help because I do not know whether to give / sell this trash or if there are any chances. I do not want to add any external network cards because I already had one in another laptop and did not pass the exam, and the only thing I needed was WiFi, which is a tragedy.

Download an image of any distribution and prepare a bootable USB flash drive.
At the startup of the computer, enter the BIOS and select to start from USB.

The program to create a bootable USB flash drive is, for example:
    http://unetbootin.github.io/

Then download the Linux distribution image, preferably Ubuntu.

Using the unetbootin program, upload the downloaded image to a USB flash drive and boot according to the advice.

Linux should present a real picture of the computer's capabilities.

In the router settings, turn off the mixed environment, leave 802.11n. Change the channel to a completely different one. It can help, although on another laptop and so the range is better than on Kiano ...

Kiano Slimnote 14.2: WiFi Coverage Concerns - Comparing to Aspire 5349, PS3, and TV at Home

This "flea" (Realtek RTL8723BS) suits you @Puchaczo for WiFi, and where toto has an antenna, I do not know.

I am again, after a few days of struggle I can afford to comment on this invention. I tested everything you wrote, no improvement. This pseudo laptop does not have any parameters that allow you to do anything but browse the internet, and even this is not good enough!
I do not know how they sold it, I ate a lot of nerves on it and I will comment on this in the following way - ZENADA. I do not recommend it to anyone, maybe it looks cool but it is completely non-functional, in practice it is only suitable for writing in Word, and I do not write it maliciously. New laptop already purchased, this trash I no longer want to see even on the eyes.

I also had the same problem on the same device.
I managed to find a solution.
    You should:

The process is short and the key is
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Control \ Class \ {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} \ 000x
    (X may be one of 0/1/2 ...)
Search for and change the value of bLeisurePs from 2 to 0.
Then disable and re-enable the wireless interface in Device Manager.

Link to the source: (I can not insert a link because I have registered to give an answer here) communities intel thread 94108

It solves the problem completely, until I'm surprised.
Ping to the router jumped tragically to 1000 even, at the moment max. 15ms.

I tried this method at home but it did not do much, I am already on the new laptop and I do not recommend this trash to anyone - it is not worth wasting money and nerves.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around WiFi connectivity issues experienced with the Kiano Slimnote 14.2 laptop, particularly in comparison to an Aspire 5349, PS3, and a TV, all of which maintain stable connections. Users suggest various troubleshooting steps, including testing with a bootable Linux USB to assess hardware performance, adjusting router settings (such as disabling mixed mode and changing channels), and modifying power settings for the WiFi card. Despite attempts to resolve the issues, including registry edits and driver checks, the original poster expresses frustration with the laptop's performance, ultimately deeming it unsuitable for basic internet use.
