Dear Users, I had this problem yesterday:

The car is Volkswagen Touran 1.9 diesel, manufactured in 2004. The temperature and fuel level indicators do not drop to zero, even after disconnecting the battery.

After turning the key, they drop to zero and go up again, while the clock, radio, etc. settings are reset (as with disconnecting the battery). After a while, everything turns on again and the car starts without any problems.

I recorded a video of how it looks like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5PikjY9sWQ

Check the fuses and whether they are in their place, or the memory of the meter is released

"+30" is missing on the clocks.
    Check and, if necessary, repair.

Can I ask you to explain what this "+30" is?

In the meantime, I was able to borrow a diagnostic computer, it detects error 01317 and the F17 fuse responsible for it, located in the fuse box under the hood, is on. Based on the previous answers, my guess is that the clocks will be replaced, right?

Or maybe check the harness for abrasions and short circuits

I don't want to look for it, and I'm not alpha and omega, so write what this fuse F17 is responsible for and a description of this error. You want help a little help too ...

The problem has been resolved. The cause was that the BSI box was wet.
Fuse F17 (error J285 / 01317) which is responsible for maintaining the watch memory, indicators, radio memory shorted with the path that the signal current goes to the starter.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a 2004 Volkswagen Touran 1.9 diesel experiencing issues with the temperature and fuel level indicators not resetting to zero after disconnecting the battery. Users suggest checking the fuses, specifically fuse F17, which is linked to the memory of the clock and indicators. The author later identifies that the problem was due to a wet BSI box causing a short circuit, which affected the functionality of the indicators and memory settings. The error code 01317 was detected, indicating a fault related to the F17 fuse.
