[Solved] GTX 1060 does not detect the monitor - Does not detect the monitor

Hello, I recently bought a new graphics card for my old man, i.e. Geforce 1060 6gb, I have long been used to two monitors and here is the problem. The main one works flawlessly, the second one, but not quite, I read on some forum that I need a signal converter because the card is only for digital and the old monitor has an analog one. So I overzealously purchased two things with alledrog http: // alle ....

In the card I only have 1 HDMI input, the rest DP, the main monitor (SAMSUNG S22C300 is already on HDMI, so the second (SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER 2033) from the converter via the adapter was connected to DP, as you can guess, it does not work. So I connected the main monitor via this HDMI adapter> DP and the second through a converter to HDMI and here a shock - none works.

Describe it correctly again. You have in the card outputs not inputs!
Besides, you bought a signal converter from VGA to HDMI that is, from analog to digital.

You need a DisplayPort to VGA (DSUB) converter. Such for ~ 20 zlotys.



Connect the second monitor with HDMI-HDMI cable without converters.

OKAY. I bought a converter from analog to digital signal because the second monitor - Samsung SyncMaster 2033 (old man) has only a connector VGA . I connected it to the converter and the converter itself was connected with out in the graphics card with this adapter
Of course, the monitor was not detected, so I decided to check without this DP adapter - I connected the converter to the computer with an HDMI cable and, to my surprise, it also did not work, as it should be.

When I connected the converter with the HDMI connector, the monitor did not work either, I can buy another converter, but not to turn out, I will spend more on changing the signal for a new monitor. I also made it uphill myself - I could immediately buy what you are talking about, but because I am bathed in hot water, I did not get interested enough in the topic to check if there are any other than VGA> HDMI, but I ordered that one together with an adapter in the hope that it would be raving because, to my peasant reason, it seemed to me that it should.

But you don't want to convert analog to digital, just the other way around. You bought a VGA2HDMI, so you can power the HDMI monitor from the VGA connector on the graphics card. This converter has no right to work, so you should just buy the right one, not the one. There is no need to play with double conversion - first from DP to HDMI, then from HDMI to VGA - one converter from DP to VGA should do the trick.

Well this, you should buy a signal converter from digital to analog.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work both ways. It is best to buy a DP to VGA converter as recommended by @ dt1.

It took a while, but today I received the converter mentioned by dt1. Everything works as it should, once again many thanks and best regards.
