    Welcome,
I have been thinking about buying a soldering station - a tin suction device for a long time. My friend has the ZD-985 and is very pleased. What do you think about this device? Or maybe you have a better choice in similar money? I must admit that despite the fact that I was very impressed with the efficiency of this device (I work in THT, so it is great for collecting tin from the element legs, although I guess it may be worse with SMD), I found relatively little information on the selection of the appropriate station on the Internet. I will be very grateful for any opinion or information where I can find more information on choosing such a device.

Personally, I use the ZD-915 station and I am satisfied with it, the only disadvantage I see is the very dirty air filter in the suction gun. Well, but that's where the sucked tin goes. When it comes to THT or tin removal from multilayer holes, it is ok.

It all comes down to your budget.

Finally, it stood on the latest version of the well-worn ZD-915, i.e. ZD-8915. So far, I am very pleased - it works flawlessly and desoldering elements from old motherboards is pure pleasure ;) At the weekend, I will compare with ZD-915 and ZD-985 because both are in a familiar workshop, until I'm curious how it will turn out.

    Hello,
If anyone has specific questions about the ZD-915 and ZD-8915 desoldering irons, I will be happy to answer. I have both models in use on an ongoing basis.
I also prepared a comparison beforehand in which I probably listed all the differences.

    greetings

I didn't know you were on the electrode ;-) I just bought this station from you (I am the customer who asked for the same day [Thursday] shipment to arrive on Monday because then it had its proper baptism of fire). I've been using it for a while, so I can write a few words immodestly.

The station works flawlessly in desoldering all types of through-hole assembly. You rarely have to remember about an extra drop of tin, and only when they used it very much at the factory. Compared to the ZD-915, it seems to be a leap in terms of build quality and generally understood aesthetics (it just seems "more decent" or a higher-end product). A very pleasant surprise is the stand for the desoldering gun, which is the heaviest I have ever seen in Chinese equipment, and thus very stable and extremely tipping.
