Polaroid MID1047PME01.112 - Tablet does not start factory rst CWM (ACT7029)

Best answers

Hello. I got a Chinese Polaroid as in the subject. Apparently, the browser and any other applications did not work. I connected to the charger and that it did not start within an hour (it hung on the POLAROID logo). I wanted to hard rst him, unfortunately it was strange that CWM started, but well, maybe the predecessor tried CyanogenMod or something similar, so I reset the tablet from this level. Unfortunately, now it comes only in CWM and nothing else. Ainol hero Quad Core 10.1 logo is launched. In a word, someone messed up quite a bit. I found some soft for flashing from the recovery level but unfortunately only the Polaroid logo flashes and I can still see CWM. Before installation, I was doing everything possible. Factory rst also had no effect after the flash. I am asking for help, maybe someone has already had a similar problem. Unfortunately, the firmware cannot be found for this Chinese. So I am asking for any firmware that could move here. ACT7029 processor. Softu from ainol does not want to load the program (maybe something went wrong). I'm not running out of ideas to move it. Greetings.

Take the tablet apart and look for the firmware after marking the disc.

    Disc designation: ZX_V10F_V1.3_130528

As far as I know, Denver has an identical disc, but there is no software for it either.
    Anyway, I keep looking.

It will probably be hard to find the firmware for this. As a last resort, you can look for the firmware for ACT7029, but probably someone has already done it before and that's why it had the firmware from ainol hero Quad Core 10.1 in it.

The hamster soft that I received at PW did not help either the one from the post above. I think they were even the same files as on the hamster, but packed differently. Then you will have to try something without CWM recovery.
I don't know if it matters but I keep throwing out the following results. I have already installed CWM on devices many times and if the package was ok, it was possible to completely change the system in a few minutes and here is CWM but there is no package to install that would work. I still remember how the partition tables in the LG GT540 were changed so as not to waste space.

    CWM-based recovery v6.0.3.1 by bnmguy
    E: Can't mount / cache / recovery / command
    E: Can't mount / cache / recovery / log
    E: Can't open / cache / recovery / log
    E: Can't mount / cache / recovery / last_log
    E: Can't open / cache / recovery / last_log

Probably immediately after switching on, because in order to see these lines, you need to do a few operations to see them (CWM resolution does not allow displaying the entire program screen).

I have yet noticed something very strange that is why it won't start.

at wipe data / factory reset I have
    --wiping data ...
Formatting and different partitions here, i.e. standard
but I wonder about the last two lines

    Formatting /emmc/.android_secure ...
    Error mounting /emmc/.android_secure!

Maybe this is the cause of problems as if it could not load the memory, but I do not know if it is not an SD card

Remember that any attempt to upload non-original firmware may damage the tablet.

It may damage but does not have to. If anything is lit, there are good chances of recovery.
recently I had a samsung where he did not even want to charge the battery. Only the Samsung screen and some red triangle in the year of the screen was blowing up, and it was all there. You had to load it via IMAX B6 and then soft via ODIN because KIES did not touch it. And the phone works like new.

I know, but in the end you will have to figure it out

What I delivered inside are two different: CWM and original backup.
I brought the Polaroid to life with this.

Maybe a colleague will tell you how to upload cwm so that the backup starts, maybe the cm that is uploaded is damaged. Unfortunately, I was unable to enter fastboot mode to upload cwm from the command line. I'm not saying the files are bad. They can be good and something else is causing the error. And the polaroid software only supports img files.

I did it quite a long time ago, but in the options where there is backup, there should be recovery.

I do that too, but unfortunately after installation and reboot, it drops boot screen hero 10.1 and loads cwm.

There is also a second version - no backup, try this.

The second version is recovery version 6.0.3.3, but I don't know why I can't install it. After installation, I have 6.0.3.1 all the time. I install by install zip from sdcard the installation is going to see changes in the log. And the version doesn't change.

In total, following this line of thinking, if I have cwm 6.1.3.1, I have to look for recovery for this version. I remember that once I also had such a problem and to install new cyanmod you had to change the recovery. Only to change the cwm there I had a fastboot, unfortunately there is only adb here and unfortunately it is not possible to do it through adb.

Welcome back. I see that there is no software from this Chinese, so I'm starting to test the software from ainol. If anything comes out of this, I'll let you know.

It is possible that someone can, after desoldering the memory, program it (I have access to the programmer) read a good memory from a working tablet. However, there is a risk of memory damage when soldering. If anyone is interested, I can try to upload the file.

Hello. Thank you colleagues for your help. The tablet works.

CyanMod software from my friend gradek83 led me to a good lead and found the reason.

Uploading CyanMod threw the battery with an exclamation mark on the screen so that is where I started looking for the cause. The battery had 3.2 volts, which put me in a vicious circle earlier. The recovery started and the system did not start. I found that it is possible that the CWM does not charge the battery.

Replacing the battery resulted in the tablet starting up. After desoldering, it turned out that the battery protection system was damaged.

A software called RESTORE has returned the tablet to its factory state. I would also like to thank user Freddy for that and gradek83 for sending files.

I would like to thank all users contributing to the topic for their help. The patient is alive.

    Regards and thank you.

The topic will be closed in the evening.

    Hello,
I have the same tablet and the wrong soft is uploaded. He immediately starts to cwm recovery. It is kind of bad resolution because it cuts the right and bottom sides, I can't see the whole log. Battery charged. I give Backup and restore> restore and select copies from freddi, but it gets failed to mount / dev / block / actb, error mounting / boot !, skipping format ..., I can't read any more. I uploaded the recovery from the package so that the version was the same as the copy and it was uploaded without any problems. Anything else needed? Is the tablet in the trash?

FAQ

TL;DR: A 3.2 V battery caused the boot loop; as one expert noted, “CWM does not charge the battery.” Replacing the battery/protection and restoring a factory backup revived the MID1047PME01.112. [Elektroda, RAFI462, post #16678954]

Why it matters: This FAQ helps owners fix Polaroid MID1047PME01.112 tablets stuck in CWM or boot loops without hunting random ROMs.

Quick Facts

How do I fix a Polaroid MID1047PME01.112 stuck in CWM boot?

Check battery health first. A 3.2 V pack and failed protection circuit kept one unit looping in CWM. Replacing the battery restored boot, then a RESTORE package returned it to factory state. “CWM does not charge the battery,” so don’t rely on recovery to top it up. [Elektroda, RAFI462, post #16678954]

What does board marking ZX_V10F_V1.3_130528 tell me?

It identifies the exact PCB variant inside your tablet. Use this string when searching for compatible firmware or backups. One owner confirmed this marking after disassembly, which guided subsequent firmware research. [Elektroda, RAFI462, post #16652387]

Can I flash Ainol Hero 10.1 firmware on this ACT7029 Polaroid?

It has been done before, which explains seeing the Ainol boot logo. However, it’s a last-resort approach and carries brick risk. The advice in-thread warns that non-original firmware can harm the device, even if it boots. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #16652402]

Why doesn’t a factory reset from CWM fix my boot loop?

Logs showed storage mount failures like “Can’t mount /cache …” and errors on /emmc/.android_secure. Factory reset can’t repair underlying storage or power faults, so the loop persists until those issues are solved. [Elektroda, RAFI462, post #16656705]

How do I restore a working backup from CWM on this tablet?

Use CWM’s Backup and Restore to apply the supplied factory backup. A contributor provided a package containing CWM and an original backup and reported the tablet came back to life with it. [Elektroda, Freddy, post #16656871]

How can I change my CWM version? My zip flashes but version stays 6.0.3.1.

One user observed that installing a 6.0.3.3 recovery zip still left 6.0.3.1 active. On this device, flashing recovery from within CWM may not overwrite the recovery partition reliably. Match backups to the installed CWM version instead. [Elektroda, RAFI462, post #16657211]

What error messages indicate storage or partition problems?

Watch for lines like “E: Can’t mount /cache/recovery/log” or “Error mounting /emmc/.android_secure!”. These point to inaccessible partitions, which block resets and ROM flashes until power or storage issues are fixed. [Elektroda, RAFI462, post #16656705]

Does CWM charge the battery on this model?

No. One successful repair noted that CWM did not charge the pack during recovery. Quote: “CWM does not charge the battery.” Charge externally or replace the battery before flashing. [Elektroda, RAFI462, post #16678954]

What if I can’t find official firmware for the ACT7029-based Polaroid?

It may be hard to locate exact stock images. As a last resort, some try ACT7029 ROMs from similar devices, but this explains mismatched boot logos and risk. Proceed only if you accept possible damage. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #16652402]

What was the final working solution reported in this thread?

Battery/protection replacement plus a factory RESTORE. How-To:
  1. Replace the faulty battery or protection board.
  2. Boot CWM and run Backup and Restore with the provided factory image.
  3. Reboot to system and confirm normal boot. This resolved the loop. [Elektroda, RAFI462, post #16678954]

How do I identify the right firmware if the tablet won’t boot?

Disassemble carefully and read the PCB marking. Use that exact designation to narrow firmware or backup searches. This step was specifically recommended to align software to hardware. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #16650721]

Is hardware reprogramming the memory a viable recovery path?

Yes, with skills and tools. One member offered to desolder and program the memory using an external programmer, noting a real risk of damage during soldering. Consider this only after safer options. [Elektroda, Andrzej Czuba, post #16677915]

I get "failed to mount /dev/block/actb" during restore. What should I try?

That message suggests the recovery cannot access the boot or related partitions. Use the recovery version bundled with the known-good backup and ensure adequate power before restoring. This combination revived a bricked unit in-thread. [Elektroda, Freddy, post #16656871]

What is CWM (ClockworkMod) in this context?

CWM is a custom recovery environment used to wipe, back up, and restore Android devices. On this tablet, users reported “CWM-based recovery v6.0.3.1,” which provides the Backup and Restore workflow used here. [Elektroda, RAFI462, post #16656705]

Is it safe to flash non-original firmware just to get it booting?

It’s risky. An expert warned that uploading non-original firmware may damage the tablet. If you proceed, accept the possibility of unrecoverable bricks and mismatched hardware support. [Elektroda, nutergsm, post #16652708]
