Fuel Float Issue in Audi A4 B5: Tear-off Contacts, Electrical Conductivity & Solutions

Hello. I have a problem with a fuel float. Initially, I thought something was hanging up. Today I pulled out the float and everything is ok, except nwm what a driver or what. It seems to me that it has tear-off contacts and therefore it does not conduct electricity and does not work. I attach a picture because now I do not know if it's the fault that it is wiped or maybe something else. I would like to say that this is the part that is attached to 2 cables and the float hovers and falls just touches this "driver" Thank you in advance for hints because now I know whether I should buy a new swimmer or maybe some other reason. In the picture from this angle it is difficult to tell if the metal is damaged or only dirty.

Thank you for the information, but the metal is all peeled and not dirty. Unfortunately, this sensor to replace rather because nothing will be done with it. My was clean, as I took it out and not as dirty as in the attached link. You presented the fuel level sensor, "Audi A4 B5 1.9 TDI In Tank Diesel Fuel Level Sensor Sender Unit - 8D0919673N", with a smoothed conductive path, ... and no replacement for efficient, unless you can not cope ... there are DIY methods ... but for that you probably will not reach. Needed part, it has a factory identification number - 8D0919673N

I also have a problem with the plate on which the contacts are moving.
After cleaning and viewing the element under the microscope, you can see that the plates are wiped, which gives the effect of fiddling a hint from the fuel level.
