Colleagues, I haven't been in the industry for a long time and I got stuck with AHD cameras. I bought for the old installation. Apparently they can be switched from AHD to CVBS to make it work. Does anyone know how to do this because the instructions are very poor. The cameras are LC-HDX24 AHD (this one doesn't have even one jumper or DSa) and Dahua DH-SD42212I-HC.

The recorder for this is Pos_Watch SE.

If there is no option to switch, will the signal converter from AHD to CVBS / VGA save the situation?

According to the instructions, these are dip switches for DH / SD change.

Just because you have a camera that looks like a dahua doesn't mean it's the same inside as has a dahua.

Why did you even think this camera could work in analog mode? After all, nowhere on the catalog cards writes anything about the CVBS signal?

Okay, you can try doing this:
look for the PFM820 controller - mooooooay it will work (it gives 30%).
Otherwise - I would knock the can - and look for an analog PTZ camera.

I do not recommend switching 2MP cameras to analog mode - because the image is worse than in traditional analogs

First, I blew it up because I didn't know about AHD at all, that it was something else. As I wrote, I am a bit off topic. However, it is written everywhere in the AHD definitions that these cameras can be changed in CVBS and this is an advantage of the standard. I dipped in ignorance and now I wonder if this quality can be embraced.
Replacing the recorder is not an option because you would have to replace 8 such together with the matrix - there is no cash.
This dedication may be a problem, because here I gave the bodies again and bought in a medium-customer-oriented company ... Long topic but I have no great hopes.
How about this AHD to CVBS signal converter? if I put it in front of the recorder?

I found this DS but it doesn't work. Neither in the SD mode, nor in the car does it give a picture.

Did you turn off the power of the camera after each DS change?

Yes. But maybe too short. I'll check again today.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around switching AHD cameras, specifically the LC-HDX24 AHD and Dahua DH-SD42212I-HC, to CVBS mode for compatibility with a Pos_Watch SE DVR. Users suggest that Dahua offers a mode switch controller (PFM820) that can facilitate this transition, although it may not work with all models. There are mentions of dip switches for mode changes, but some users report difficulties in achieving a working signal. The conversation also touches on the limitations of AHD cameras in analog mode, with recommendations to consider signal converters if direct switching is not feasible. The author expresses frustration over the lack of clear instructions and the potential need for a more reliable camera system.
