    Good morning,
I have a gateway with a FAAC 740 drive, everything is set by default. The gate opens and closes due to the magnetic stops at the ends. The operation logic (LO) is set to "stepwise semi-automatic (EP).
I don't know how to set it to not run 0-1, just slow down before stopping and not start at full speed. This will slightly reduce the start-stop of a gate weighing about 400kg.
    I don't think I have an encoder.
I do not understand the instructions according to which the machine has a slowdown rA = 05, but somehow I do not notice this slowdown.
The neighbor gate (other drive) will reduce opening / closing some 1m before the end.

    Please help.
    Peter

This drive does not have a gradual movement at all - so you will have to get used to the jerk at the start.
Slowing down after the limit switches - the one that is under the rA position - works for a maximum of 7 cm after the limit switch is triggered (for max parameter - 9) - i.e. first of all the magnets must be set for a slightly earlier operation (maybe you didn't take it into account and the gate just collapses bars), secondly - maybe such a short slowdown is hardly visible but effective enough - 740 is not a rocket ...

I write (you would not despair if it does not slow down) for the fact that in some copies - there is also the second position of the slowdown - before the extremes - a position called probably rP or rB or something like that.
Then first you need to set the exact time t (maximum operating time of the drive - i.e. gate movement time plus 4-5 s) and then set the above parameter as the gate's fast movement time - the rest will be a slowdown.
But only some of them have this position (I had only a few dozen drives with slowdown before the limit switches).
This function is also capricious - on slows the drive is much weaker and with increased resistance - winter, tarnished guide - the drive stalls on slowing down (the engine buzzs until time t runs out) and does not close the gate. Frequent (at least seasonal) strength adjustment is required. Maybe for this FAAC abolished this function.

Another thing with drives on DC motors (e.g. Nice Robus - maybe it's like a neighbor) - they have (due to a completely different motor control) almost full power on long decelerations and this function works repetitively and predictably.

PS. The encoder in 740 primarily enables the anti-crushing function (without it, the gate always pushes against an obstacle with the force set in the menu, with it the gate retracts after encountering an obstacle) - besides all time functions - i.e. partial opening of the OP, total time t, these slowdowns before the limits are made more accurately in terms of distances and times. But his presence will not improve the way the exemptions work, nor will the presence of the abovementioned.

Great, I tested it and it's as you write. Thank you so much for help.
