    Hello.
I have such a problem with this iron because the Secure sensor works poorly. There is a plate on the fireman that detects our hand, I don't know how it works, probably infrared. The problem is that in a normal system with a handle, this sensor does not work and does not turn on the heater / thermostat. When I remove the handle and touch this window on the plate with my finger, it only works and the foot turns on.
The iron is completely renovated by me, because the foot has become unsealed (steam leaks inside the iron) and I had to replace the silicone and generally descale it. When you put it together, something happens that was not there before.
Could I mess up something while putting it together?
Is there any regulation? Is there anything I can do apart from replacing or bypassing the firefighter with this sensor?

And that's for sure. Upload more photos as it is connected there, we will remove this (firefighter with this sensor) as you called it.

Well, rather, not because if I shook it, it wouldn't work at all. And it works, only from too close a distance to detect the hand on the handle. I took pictures while I was undressing and plugged in the other way. There is no possibility of a mistake. The question was a bit rhetorical :D
    I attach photos.

If you want to skip it, combine Brown with White and the iron will heat up.

    I do not really understand.
In the sense of not cutting off the power on the brown sensor, but how is it to make a short connection between white and brown?

If you want without the sensor, the connection between Birch and White will start heating if that's what you mean. It just won't turn off when you release your hand from the handle.

Option 1: I cut off the white and brown in front of the sensor and connect them together - the sensor is not powered
Option 2: I do not cut off anything, I point the insulation on white and brown and connect with an additional wire

The question is also a black cable that separates from the sensor - one wire goes to the lamp that signals heating, and the other wire goes to the foot to the connector on the left. Will the lamp work after this?

    Thanks.

The first option is so much that, as you wrote, the lamp will not light up.

I don't know, I fumbled with this sensor a bit (I don't like to give up) although I practically did nothing and it clicked and works. We will see. The iron was assembled and given to my wife for testing.
Once the sensor works, once it does not work. I connected the wires, i.e. white with brown to bypass it, and it goes. The lamp is also on.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues with the Secure sensor functionality of the Bosch TDA 7860 iron after a renovation and descaling process. The user reports that the sensor, which is supposed to detect hand presence on the handle, is malfunctioning, only activating when touched directly. Despite the iron being fully renovated, the sensor does not operate as it did previously. Various troubleshooting suggestions are provided, including bypassing the sensor by connecting the brown and white wires, although this would prevent the heating indicator lamp from functioning. The user experiments with different wiring configurations, ultimately achieving intermittent success with the sensor's operation.
