And I will share my experience. I have two Terra devices: one older one for a threaded cylinder and the other newer one for a QUICK cylinder and a finger counter like they used to have in aeroplanes or coaches for counting travellers. I gas 5x 1 sec, I also like the way it scratches the gas in my throat, and I get between 67 and 72 bottles out of a gas cylinder, the last 3 of which are already poorly carbonated. I used to exchange bottles in my street for £20 each, plus a pass of 9 plus one for half price, but when the guy raised the price to £25 (the neighbour was supposed to be cheaper for "his own"), I now exchange close to work for £15 each, I have the same pass of 9 exchanges plus one for free. I bought the QUICK unit new last year, and the older one, which I repaired over a year ago, on a trial basis used, and I think I made a great decision. I don't count how much plastic I haven't produced in that time, but I can see it from the bin bags. I recommend.

    >>21500636 67 to 72 standard 0.8L bottles with 5 shots? That's not a bad result. Did you weigh a full and an empty bottle? At my place, a full filled one (not under the SodaStream branding) was 1230g and an empty one was 750g. So the gas alone was 480g. But how does yours come out around 56L at (5x1s) and mine 36L at the same dosage? I can understand a difference of 10-15%, but 35%? Do you also have a slight gas hiss while gassing (after firing)?

Whenever I bring a bottle in I always forget to weigh it, but I always replace it, I don't refill my own so I can compare after emptying it, although they tend to weigh similarly empty I guess. Yes, there's always a quiet hiss after each press, and after the fifth one it's louder, so I stop. I don't know how much will come out from the new supplier, but that's how much was coming out from a neighbour.

Nominally there should be 425g of CO2 in this bottle. Mine replaced at Leviathan had 480g. I have read that it is safe to pump it up to this value. For now I am replacing at 25 PLN and there is enough for a month. At our Messer representative you can exchange for 15 PLN, but in my case it's a trip to the other end of town. Maybe someday, when I'm well enough, I'll buy a set to connect a 6 kg cylinder, but for now, even this 25 PLN doesn't hurt my pocket too much with such consumption and it's cheaper than petrol from the market. Regards.

    >>16787592 link on YT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEt36bqvmT4 the guy shows how to fix the Sodastream version of the Terra, because it was the same with me, gas was flowing (new cylinder) but after removing the cylinder the water was not carbonated. The video helped.

Topic summary

The discussion addresses the issue of SodaStream devices producing weakly carbonated water despite using new CO2 cartridges. Common causes include air-filled or improperly filled gas cylinders, faulty or worn seals and gaskets (notably the yellow gasket near the CO2 cylinder), and leaks at the bottle-to-device junction preventing adequate pressure buildup. Some users report problems with the bleed valve not closing properly, causing continuous gas escape and insufficient carbonation. Solutions suggested involve weighing cylinders to verify CO2 content, checking for "snow" (CO2 frost) when pressing the valve, replacing or repairing seals and gaskets, and ensuring tight connections. Some users have repaired or modified the safety/bleed valve using rubber bands or aluminum foil to improve sealing. Warranty replacements have been successful in some cases. Additionally, clogged or dirty saturator nozzles can cause gas leakage and poor carbonation. Videos and tutorials are available demonstrating disassembly and repair techniques. The discussion also touches on CO2 consumption rates, cylinder refilling practices, and comparisons of carbonation efficiency. Brands mentioned include SodaStream, Brita Stream, Dafi Push Air, and Terra, with models such as SodaStream Duo and Terra (including versions with threaded and QUICK cylinders).
