If there is an evaporator in the freezer, and the cold air distribution system to the refrigerator is through air ducts, then usually a capillary and a suction pipe (return) go to the evaporator. Therefore, it is not a problem to replace these tubes from the evaporator to the compressor (if there is a possible leak on them).

Even when there is a situation with a hidden condenser on the sides of the refrigerator, you can always use an external condenser, and omit the one under the foam.
