Hello. Car as described. The problem is that when the engine is cold, the revs ripple so badly that the engine becomes muddy. Additionally, it throws the engine terribly. After connecting the vag, it showed an error in the temperature sensor of the engine and additional air. I changed the sensor and nothing was done. Same error all the time. The engine behaves as long as it does not reach a temperature of about 50 degrees. In addition, the exhaust manifold is cracked and the engine farts. Could this behavior of the engine be caused by the exhaust manifold? In the data blocks on the vag it shows the behavior of the lambda probe from -10 to about -30, I do not know if it is ok. Maybe there is another engine temperature sensor that I do not know about? I will add that the golfik is in the machine. Thanks in advance.

Try to unclip the air flow meter and see if there is a difference.

I just replaced the flow meter. One more question. I can't get an exhaust manifold like I have anywhere. There are a few pieces from the AKL engine code and I have APF. Is there a possibility that it will come because my hands are already dropping. best regards

What are the readings from this sensor when the engine is choking?

The temperature sensor in the cold shows the temperature close to the temperature outside.

Cleaning and adapting the throttle plus replacing the intake manifold gaskets (all eight) in this engine is the basis ... The symptoms also match the damaged lambda sensor, namely the heater

    Added after 4 [minutes]:

A leaky exhaust manifold may cause incorrect operation of the lambda which detects oxygen in the exhaust gas and increases the fuel dose

I had the same in the same model, after replacing everything that went, it turned out that the suction manifold seals were to blame

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues with a Volkswagen Golf 4 1.6 SR 8V, specifically cold engine revs that ripple and erratic behavior until the engine reaches approximately 50 degrees Celsius. The user reports a persistent error related to the engine temperature sensor, despite replacing it. Additional problems include a cracked exhaust manifold, which may contribute to the engine's poor performance and incorrect lambda sensor readings. Suggestions from other users include checking the air flow meter, cleaning and adapting the throttle, and replacing intake manifold gaskets. One user noted that faulty suction manifold seals could also be the cause of similar symptoms.
