    Hello,
a friend of mine whom I helped to assemble the monitoring system at home and set up remote access asked me for further help.

It has a recorder BCS CVR0801-IV Store Link
Four CCTV cameras are connected to it.

He has still purchased 2 additional cameras "product" Foscam fi8904w ] Manufacturer's website

However, he would like to have these cameras available wirelessly (they are only intended to be a preview).

And here my question: how to connect them to the recorder?

The cameras are configured so that they are connected wirelessly to a wifi network, in which the recorder is also located. From a computer, while in this network (using the manufacturer's application) I can see the camera and I can log in to it through the browser and have a live view.

The recorder, however, cannot see this camera even by manually adding none of it.

I would ask for help in setting up! Thank you in advance!

There is no guarantee that this will work. If the recorder does not see it after onvifi-e and correct input of ports and authentication probably none of this. I have worked on similar topics many times and honestly ... it's a pity of nerves for such inventions.

    Maybe I configured something wrong?

It made no difference whether it was a wireless connection or a twisted pair connection.

The IP address was in the correct pool, the question is what ports should I set, gateway and DNS - I set up the router, maybe there should be a registrar?
Everything is plugged into the router coming directly from Orange (external IP), maybe some port forwarding should I do?

    ----
    EDIT:
luk9753 - the whole case is pending in Sokołów Podlasie, so quite a short distance ;)

The standard if it does not go on Onvife, then adding manually, i.e. from the camera's network settings, you need to enter http and rtsp ports, login and password. Updating the system will not hurt either, recently BCS (Dahua) introduced a lot of improvements in compatibility with other manufacturers.

This camera works "after mjpeg" this recorder will not see her.

Nowhere, unfortunately, I can't find what rtsp port this whole FOSCAM has ... in the settings there is only the HTTP port.

I'm sending all my configuration below:

    Spoiler:

    1. Orange router - external IP address redirected to the recorder
    IP address: 192.168.0.1

    2. BCS recorder
    IP address: 192.168.0.108
    Mask: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.0.1
    Preferred DNS: 8.8.8.8
    Alternate DNS: 8.8.4.4

    TCP port: 37777
    UDP port: 37778
    HTTP port: 8080
    RTSP port: 5554

    3. Foscam camera
    IP address: 192.168.0.109
    Mask: 255.255.255.0
    HTTP port: 8081
    Gateway: 192.168.0.1
    Preferred DNS: 192.168.0.1

If everything looks ok then what can I do to make it work apart from throwing the camera out the window :D

Due to the fact that it has to act as a preview camera, maybe I can access it outside of the recorder remotely?
I am currently using the iDMSS Lite application for remote viewing of BCS

I understand, and where the video formats are saved in the description of the recorder, only the resolutions are given

If you want to make sure this foscam has onvif, then do it. Download the onvif manager program on your computer, connect and configure the camera IP to your computer (same subnet). Run onvif manager, click search.
Important now. As foscam will not appear - that is, there is no onvif I would look for firmware where this onvif will appear.
As it appears, in path? URL / you'll have the path to the onvif stream, followed by the IP address: followed by the port. If it is a port other than http, i.e. 8080, 8091 etc. - then you have the onvif protocol port in this camera.
Try to add a camera in bcs after this onvif port.
How it still does not work ... I would wonder if it makes sense to waste time trying to add after rtsp (how can I not do it).

I will not add this foscama, as I wrote earlier. The stream is after mjpeg and the recorder supports h264.

Ok, then can I somehow connect this camera only as a preview to the application I'm using? (iDMSS Lite)
I have an external IP and I already have access to the recorder, the same I should do with the camera and just add it to the application, will it not work here?

    --------
I have an older Chinese recorder that can support mjpeg. Can you bite it somehow? Upload Chinese image to BCS? ----- this is such an additional question, is it possible at all

    yes, I'm sorry,
I looked at this foscam - and this is a lot of it -

You won't connect to the application, because probably the application will not support this camera either ...
Download the Foscam app - it will probably display it to you.

Hello, I see that the topic is similar to mine so I will try to hook up.
My recorder is ZXTECH NVR (I will give a link to the auction where I bought because there is not enough in the information network)

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4K-8MP-UHD-Wireles...-Recorder-IP-CCTV-DVR/302610673755?_trkparms= aid 3D111001%%% 26algo 3DREC.SEED% 26ao 3D1%%% 26asc 3D20160727114228 26meid%%% 3Dd905cdcaf1ac44a8954310c7646c0a33 26pid% 3D100290 26rk%%% 26rkt 3D2 3D4%%% 26sd 3D182867213542% 26itm% 3D302610673755 & _trksid = p2060778.c100290.m3507

and a configuration problem for the Doha DH-IPC-HFW4800EP (4mm) camera.

After many treatments and the help of my colleagues from the forum, I launched the camera and is visible on the web, including the browser level.
However, I can't add it to the NVR, I've never had such a problem and 3 other cameras are already working on this NVR.
There is also a problem with remote viewing on the gDMSS app, as I add the address and rigid access this is a preview but only in the home network.
There is no preview from the external network and I cannot add the camera after P2P.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around connecting Foscam FI8904W IP cameras wirelessly to a BCS CVR0801-IV recorder for preview purposes. Users express challenges in getting the recorder to recognize the Foscam cameras, despite successful access via a computer on the same Wi-Fi network. Suggestions include ensuring the cameras support ONVIF, checking port configurations, and manually entering HTTP and RTSP ports. It is noted that the Foscam camera uses MJPEG streaming, which may not be compatible with the BCS recorder that supports H.264. Users also explore alternative methods for remote viewing through applications like iDMSS Lite and the possibility of using an older recorder that supports MJPEG.
