    Hello.

I recently bought a TV from a theme that is connected to the receiver - sound to the receiver through the optical output on the TV.
Everything would be nice, but it turned out that with this configuration I can not control the sound with the TV remote, i.e. the optical output.
To control the volume I have to use the remote control of the receiver.

If any of you could help, I would be grateful.

    best regards

It is not possible to control the sound level at the optical output of the TV.
A simple convenience is programming the amplifier control (basic functions) in the TV remote control.

Or vice versa - controlling the TV with the amplifier remote control.

Another solution would be to connect the TV and the amplifier with an HDMI cable as long as the amplifier has + built-in control functions.
My friend did not give the amplifier model, so for now it is only a guess.

And this surprises me, because in the past I had a dvbt decoder with an optical output, in which I could adjust the volume level on the decoder remote.

In my case, it is best to turn on / off and sound + and - (can I ask for info on how to do this?)

I did not give it, because I was hoping that the volume level at the optical output of the TV would be controlled (then the type of amplifier would not matter).
The amplifier is the Sony STR-KSL50, available digital inputs, optical and coaxial.

I think that the TV / remote control manual should explain how to do this.

The amplifier is quite old, if we talk about technological advances, and cannot be used for HDMI control.

In my spare time I was looking for some information on this topic but unfortunately I could not find the answer.
I have a TV remote control LG AKB75095308 and I would like it to just turn down the sound on the Sony STR-KSL50 amplifier.
I am not sure if this is possible at all.

I will be grateful for your help.

    PS
If the TV had any analog output, such a solution would be enough for me, because the amplifier very nicely "transforms" the sound into 5.1
