Hello to all forum members. I recently purchased the ELM diagnostic interface in which the instructions are written: "do not confuse OBD2 with OBDII". What is the difference between them? Thanks for the answer.

    In this case, only spelling.
But OBD2 / OBDII is not equal to EOBD and is not equal to OBD.

Topic summary

The discussion centers around the ELM diagnostic interface and the distinction between OBD2 and OBDII. Participants humorously note that the difference is primarily in spelling, referring to the use of Roman versus Arabic numerals. They suggest that both terms refer to the same diagnostic protocols, implying that the differentiation may be a marketing tactic. Additionally, it is clarified that OBD2 and OBDII are not equivalent to EOBD or OBD. A link to further information on OBD is provided for additional context.
