    Hi to all,

I did a little research on LTE antennas on the forum, but I noticed that the selection is an individual matter for each location and network, so I wanted to ask which antenna would you recommend me (Archer MR200 router)?
I receive an LTE signal in Wroclaw (PLAY network), at Koreanska Street, I also attach screens from the tests (in front of the house), generally at home I manage to pull out about 6 MB / s (in gusts up to 15) but I would like to improve this result, hence the question which directional antenna is worth buying and which transmitter should be set on.
I have the option to place the antenna on the west side on the balcony on the first floor on a pipe.

    Greetings,
    Bartek

Weak LTE800 coverage from BTS at Wrocławska 1 in Żerniki, Play has only 5MHz bandwidth on LTE800 in MIMO 2x2 and DL up to 37.5Mb / s. completely incorrect router selection to play. In MR200, it is not possible to force a specific LTE band, it does not aggregate LTE bands. The nearby Play BTSs (Wileńska 5 and Roweckiego 213 include LTE2600, LTE1800, LTE2100 and LTE800 and their aggregation), others, including the last three in Żerniki, but maybe LTE2600 as well). The nearest BTS is on Wileńska Street, Roweckiego and Żerniki to the west. investing in an antenna at 800MHz makes no sense. You should perform a test under the Rowecki BTS, Żerniki in your direction, NCI and speed tests.

    Thanks alot,
I will do the tests right after work, also in the evening I will upload the results from both BTS.
At Wilenska street, I would also be able to set up the antenna, so I will also do a test there, just in case.
Due to the wrong choice of router, will there be a chance to improve its operation or rather a chapel?

    Greetings,
    Bartek

Of course it will, but if you choose an antenna working in the 1800-2100MHz band, you will connect to LTE1800 or LTE2100 and the router will select the band itself. As an antenna for 1800-2600MHz, LTE2600 will still come as it is on BTS. Hence the need to select specific LTE bands on the router, allows you to force the one that will give the best speeds, and preferably a router with aggregation of LTE-A bands, e.g. B525, which aggregates two bands or B715 with aggregation of 3 LTE bands. In Play, it is now rather an optimal choice. MR200 is a poor router for such money, in addition to the lack of choice of LTE bands or aggregation, it has LAN ports of 100Mb / s, which with the LTE 3 cat modem, which has up to 150Mb / s and WiFi in AC 750, is a bad joke. Play on LTE2600 has 20MHz in MIMO2x2 and DL up to 150Mb / s, on LTE1800 half of that, on LTE2100 it has 10 or 5MHz in MIM 2x2 and DL up to 75 (37.5) Mb / s on LTE800 I wrote earlier. Under BTS you will connect to LTE2600 as long as it works on it. Usually the fastest.

The phone connected to Wileńska with LTE2100 and it is fast, in addition BTS after modernization and on LTE2100 it has 10MHz in MIMO 2x2 and DL up to 75Mb / s. There are also LTE2600 with 20MHz in MIMO2x2 and LTE1800 with 10MHz in MIMO2x2 and LTE800 with 5MHz in MIMO2x2, plus band aggregation. Potential, the antenna at 1800-2600MHz.

Extra, thanks for the tips and any advice. I close the topic.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around selecting the best LTE antenna for the Archer MR200 modem to improve signal reception in Wroclaw, specifically on Koreanska Street, using the PLAY network. The user experiences low speeds (6-15 MB/s) and seeks recommendations for a directional antenna. Responses highlight the limitations of the MR200 router, particularly its inability to force specific LTE bands or aggregate them. Suggestions include testing different locations near nearby BTSs (Wileńska, Roweckiego, and Żerniki) and considering antennas that operate in the 1800-2600 MHz range for better connectivity. A specific antenna model from Cybertech is mentioned as suitable, along with advice on cable length and connectors.
