    Hello.

I am creating a new topic because I have a problem with the WIFI network that I cannot deal with. I haven't had a wireless connection for two days .. It started with the fact that I did not notice that the switch of this network, which is located on the front of the laptop under the controls, had just turned off. When I realized that this was the problem and turned on the detection of wireless networks again, it found my network for me, it connects to it, but there is information about the lack of internet access, as well as a black exclamation mark on a yellow background on the taskbar next to the WIFI icon .

I read all the forums, tried all the things that were recommended but it didn't work. In the network state, there is information at IPv4 - no internet, and IPv6 - no network access .. So I tried to manually enter the values for Ipv4, it did not work - but when I set it back to determine the IP address automatically, I already thought that the problem was resolved - because the exclamation mark disappeared from the taskbar and the information that there is internet access appeared - the same when I entered the network with Ipv4 this information appeared. Unfortunately, to my dissatisfaction, there is still no internet. I tried to reset the router twice (TP LINK TL-WR741ND), checked the network card drivers (Broadcom 802.11g) - the information says that the drivers are up-to-date. I would like to add that the Internet is not available on all devices - i.e. a second laptop, mobile phones. The only way to connect to the Internet is via a cable. I am adding 5 photos, gentlemen, which may tell you, as professionals, something where the problem may be. Thank you in advance for each tip and help in solving my problem. Regards Maciek

The problem cannot be identified by troubleshooting.

Sure there is a password - see photo

How did you reset Router, did you configure it to the previous settings?

Hmm .. When I reconfigured the connection, there was some quick configuration - in the sense of setting the password and name. Unless something needs to be figured out here? (picture)

    Perhaps the router is damaged.

Static DNS address or dynamic IP provider IP entered?

Probably not - but have a look for yourself .. In this "WAN" category should I complete it?

Yes of course. On the contract, you have all the data for WAN configuration.

On the contract? With your internet provider?

The Internet on the cable from the router works or the provider?

Modem from the supplier connected by cable to the WIFI router

What kind of modem is it and who is the Internet provider?

Such a local cable cable - sat-mont-service, and the modem is called CISCO EPC3008.

Or maybe you haven't entered DNS? In the router settings? Find out about the DNS and IP address of this cable, call them if you don't have any papers.

No matter where I plug in the cable - whether in the "WAN" input or in one of the other four, when I click there in WAN "RENEW", a moment of thought pops up the message "Obtaining network parameters" and they are still 0 .. And tell me more - because Before, I had one of the four sockets plugged in all the time, never in the WAN - and everything was ok. Maybe when restarting the modem it should be plugged into the "WAN" input?

Or maybe something needs to be configured here? (photo) just for me it's gently black magic.

Connect to WAN and disconnect the modem from the provider for a while. Then check what is on the WAN of the TP-link.

Reset the router you need to put the wire in the buttonhole preferably a paper clip and hold for 10 seconds.

    Do as in the movies.

This router was installed by the cable or you yourself? Because without setting DNS, he will not connect to the Internet.

Gentlemen, there is progress :) I did as my colleague recommended above - I connected to the WAN, restarted the cable modem and all the necessary parameters jumped in in the WAN settings and the wireless internet works :) Tell me at the end, should I leave the plug in "WAN" or switch to one of the others? The question is whether the internet will still work then.

Leave the connection through the WAN port. This is the only correct connection when using more devices in the local network.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a user experiencing WiFi connectivity issues with their TP-Link router, specifically a lack of internet access despite being connected to the network. The problem was traced back to a physical switch on the laptop that had been turned off. After troubleshooting steps, including resetting the router and checking WAN settings, the user successfully restored internet access by connecting the modem to the WAN port of the router and restarting the modem. The final advice was to keep the connection through the WAN port for optimal performance when using multiple devices.
