Hello, I tried to replace the dome + finger in vw polo 86c2f 1.0 aau.
I exchanged my finger and when I removed the cables from the old dome, I rubbed the order markings.
I know it must be 1-3-4-2 but I don't know what to do next (cylinders counted from the timing). I have two manuals in Polish and English, but none of them is described in detail.

I understand well that looking from the dome side turns left?

    Hello .
If you are unsure, remove the dome, leave the splitter finger in the camera. Unscrew the candle from the first cylinder, put the finger gently in place of the candle. The second person should turn the starter, watch the finger on the camera. When the compression blows, see where the finger is. This finger position should point to the first cylinder on the dome. Of course, it is important that you did not move the ignition apparatus. If the engine did not talk, it may turn out that the piston is in the exhaust position, then the first cylinder may be on the opposite side of the dome (180 °).

Instead of pushing the starter in gear, or lift one wheel and turn the other in gear, look where the ignition finger, on the unscrewed candle at its upper point.

Of course, you can use a socket wrench on the shaft screw (pulley) and slowly turn and come out the same, i.e. it's easier to grasp when the piston is in GMP
