    Hello.
I have a small problem I bought the meter as above and when setting the antenna when I get on the hot bird transponder 11508 and enter the TVN HD channel, the message "alarm service" pops up. I will add that the strength is at 95% and quality 85%. On the mediabox everything is OK but the meter has no picture. What a message.

The meter is DVB-S2 or HD

And one more question on what channel is best to set HOT BIRD once was "Viva Poland" and at what time?

I do not use this meter, but I understand that the meter has no image from TVN HD ?? after tuning to 11508 and so it should be the channel is coded so no meter will show it to you, only non-coded channels, focus more on the settings and parameters that this meter shows.

Sure, the message that pops up for you is information that the channel is unavailable or otherwise encoded, depending on the translation into Polish, but as for this message, someone who has this meter may speak.

Thank you for the answer. And you can tell me which channel is best to set now. From experience what transponder and that I will see something on the meter after setting.

    I use 11508 V, 10719 V, 11488 H, 11411 H, 10834 V, 11449 H, 11075 V transponders to set and test, but I have more, but it depends on each user individually.

As I wrote on the meter you will not see coded channels and they are on these frequencies and rather do not look at it, this is more a toy addition, focus more on measurements and what the meter shows you and on this basis set up.

There is plenty of descriptions on the electrode on Google and YouTube regarding the meters how to use them, in time you will get the experience yourself.

Look for FTA channels, e.g. Polonia

Only that Polonia is undemanding, because in dvb-s. When you catch it, check the parameters, e.g. Supertennis HD on tp. 89 (12,475 H, SR 29900, FEC 3/4, DVB-S2 / 8PSK).
But as @ matrix5 writes - the meter is not used to watch TV, but to set the best parameters.

If you want to be sure that it hit HB, it is best to set this meter to 10719 V and then tune it on the other TP as above

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around issues faced by a user with the SATLINK WS-6916 meter while attempting to set up the Hot Bird satellite transponder 11508 for the TVN HD channel. The user encounters an "alarm service" message despite having a signal strength of 95% and quality of 85%. Responses indicate that the meter may not display images from encoded channels like TVN HD, suggesting that the message indicates the channel's unavailability. Participants recommend focusing on Free-to-Air (FTA) channels for successful setup, with suggestions for transponders such as 10719 V and 11488 H for testing. The importance of using the meter primarily for signal measurement rather than viewing is emphasized.
