A similar problem has occurred to me. I was doing a descaling this morning, which was not completed and the coffee machine continually reports that "the circuit is empty". I switched on "test mode" and did one by one as per @djszaman's instructions, but after inserting the grounds container and switching the coffee machine on, it again demands to fill the circuit and there is nothing more I can do. Does anyone have any ideas on this? I would like to get into test mode to test which component may be faulty. The model of the coffee machine is De'Longhi Dinamica 350.55B.

[>>21234228 if you have installed a water filter in the reservoir, then there may have been a blockage in the pump - just remove the filter and it should fix itself (then install according to the instruction manual - the filter is supposed to be full of water before installation). If water is flowing but the machine is reporting an empty circuit, then there has been a blockage in the flow meter blades - clean or replace.

At my Dinamica Plus, after replacing the seals on the infuser and screwing it back together, "insert brewing unit" kept popping up. I didn't know anymore, whether it was the endings or the hall or maybe the screw. It turned out that I had twisted the infuser too tightly. After unscrewing it and screwing it back more gently it was back to normal.

Hi, I have a problem with Primadonna XS, it gives me a "fix block" error.
Please send me this procedure you write about.

    Thanks, regards Marek>>20107513 .

    Welcome,

I've owned the espresso machine for over 4 years and the "fix brewing apparatus" message has been with me continuously for about two years.
Up until now, I have coped by removing/inserting the water tank several times until the coffee machine simply switches on.
I regularly did a comprehensive descaling and cleaning of the entire coffee machine wherever I could approach with a hand, cloth, brush.
On the other hand, I decided to do something about it. I attempted to analyse what might be causing this error; this led me to the Hall sensor.

Initially, I tried doing a reset from the menu, but that didn't help.
Out of curiosity, I unplugged the tape from the sensor. The coffee machine goes through the procedure and, curiously, turns on normally as if nothing ever happened.
However, I checked that without the sensor plugged in, it can't brew coffee - the process loops: the lift goes up and down.
So I plugged it in and the machine started making coffee normally, one after the other, until it switched back on.

I ordered a sensor. I'll try to replace it - we'll see what happens next.
What do you think, will this solve the problem?

I managed to fix the fault in my case.
I replaced the Hall sensor prophylactically, but the likely cause was that the gear on which the magnets are mounted had slipped a few mm and the sensor was catching once and not at all.

Topic summary

The discussion addresses the "attach the infuser" error on the De'Longhi ECAM 350.55B coffee machine occurring after descaling. The issue often relates to the brewing unit's position detection, primarily involving the Hall sensor and microswitches that monitor the brewer's movement. Replacing the Hall sensor alone does not resolve the problem because the machine's motherboard stores encoder step data, requiring a specific encoder reset procedure to synchronize the new sensor data. The reset is performed by entering a diagnostic test mode with the machine off but plugged in, trays removed, and pressing a combination of buttons (Rinsing, Aroma, Drink Menu, MyMenu) until "TEST MODE" appears, then reinserting trays and selecting the espresso icon to initiate the encoder reset. Mechanical causes include play or dirt in the brewing unit carriage, misaligned or unscrewed microswitches, or obstruction by coffee grounds preventing proper microswitch activation. A practical temporary fix involves gluing a small rubber spacer (e.g., from a bicycle inner tube) to the piston element that presses the upper microswitch to ensure contact, though this may indicate underlying drive wear requiring replacement of the main screw and nut. Users report that after reset and mechanical adjustments, the error can be cleared, but recurring faults may indicate progressive mechanical failure. Additional maintenance tips include cleaning the brewing unit, thermoblock strainer, and lubricating moving parts. Similar issues and reset procedures are noted for related De'Longhi models such as ECAM 23.450, Dinamica Plus, and Primadonna series. The discussion also highlights the importance of careful assembly, as overtightening the infuser can cause the error. Service manuals and reset instructions are shared via links and images to assist users in performing the encoder reset and troubleshooting the sensor and mechanical components.
