DAF XF 105.460 - The engine does not start - the starter does not turn.

I am asking for help in diagnosing the cause of the problem. The vehicle is a DAF XF 105.460 2009 automatic. The car is off for pauses, does not want to start after the pause. After turning the key, the lights come on normally, no error is displayed, but the starter cannot be heard. The driver tried to fasten it with a "short" key, only sparks appeared, as he claims, and it did not work. He was also moving the cables going into the pacemaker and tapping it with a hammer. Also no effect. Is the fault on the side of the pacemaker, has it expired?

Drivers have different stories about how they have to fix something on the way. I think you should carefully check the wires and connections to the starter. Especially the coil power cables like to oxidize. Sudden death of the pacemaker is rare, although it is possible. Fuses, etc., I understand that they are checked.

As recommended by the gentlemen, the chauffeur put under the car, unscrewed what was possible and the fault was actually on the side of the frayed electric wire reaching the starter. Thank you for your help!
