    Hello.
I have a problem with the Chinese quad 125 namely I do not want to start on a cold engine. The starter spins normally.
Valves adjusted, carburettor cleaned, new NGK spark plug, spark is not wanted to smoke. Once you can start it, it is normally at idle.
After extinguishing, I want to start immediately, it fires normally and you just have to wait a minute and it doesn't start again.
    What can be?

Left air probably leaking at the carburettor intake / connection.

check the compression may be a leak on the valves.

Carburettor rather well complex because on new O-rings.
I measured the pressure and showed 5.5 bar.

Below 6 bar firing problems start. I don't know what compressor is good and how much is the limit on your engine. I'll tell you by the example of Japan. Japan always has around 12-14 bar limit 9-10 bar. Due to the fact that you do not have compression, check the valves to see if they release or no rings.

When it comes to 5.5 bar compression it's very low so you probably have a guilty one.

In the evening I dismantle the top of the engine and let me know the condition of the piston and rings.

Compression very important, but what about suction, you have it working.

It is efficient because when it starts and goes at low speed, after switching on the suction, it starts working unevenly and after adding gas, it chokes.

Mountain dismantled. The first ring like a razor blade ...
Tomorrow I'm going for a new piston with rings and folding.
I will let you know if the firing problem will go away.

check the tightness of the valves before putting the heads together, and it's best to reach the valves to make sure not to disassemble them twice

Sealed valves. Flooded with kerosene, they don't even get damp.
The new piston will only be on Wednesday.
I will let you know how the deposit will be ok.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a Chinese Quad 125 that experiences heavy smoking and difficulty starting when cold. The starter operates normally, and the user has already adjusted the valves, cleaned the carburettor, and replaced the spark plug with an NGK model. Despite these efforts, the quad only starts after prolonged attempts and exhibits issues with idling and choking when gas is added. Responses suggest potential causes including air leaks at the carburettor, low compression (measured at 5.5 bar), and possible valve leaks. The user plans to inspect the piston and rings after disassembling the engine, indicating that the first ring is in poor condition. Recommendations include checking valve tightness and ensuring proper suction.
