Best Speakers for Kruger Matz KM0516 Turntable: Budget PLN 100-200 & Built-in Preamplifier Tips

What speakers and amplifier should I choose for a Kruger Matz KM0516 turntable on a 100–200 PLN budget, and do I need an extra preamp if the turntable already has one built in?

You need a stereo power amplifier plus passive speakers; the turntable’s built-in stage is only an equalizing preamp and it will not drive the speakers by itself [#17042855] For a small room, around 2×20 W is enough, and the amplifier should have RCA/AUX (or CD) inputs for the turntable’s line-out signal [#17042843][#17044412] Speakers should be passive, typically 6 or 8 ohms; one reply suggests at least 30 W speaker rating, with 8 ohms being the more common choice [#17044412] The thread also warns that some cheap “white” broadcast/PA-style speakers are not ideal for home use and have mediocre parameters, while used branded speakers such as Sanyo were considered a better option [#17044527][#17044710] Connect the turntable’s L/R LINE OUT to the amplifier’s AUX/CD inputs with RCA (chinch) cables, then connect the speakers to the amplifier with speaker wire such as 2×0.75 OMYp flat cable [#17044589][#17051729]

Hello, my friend recently bought a turntable. This is the equipment of the company: Kruger Matz KM0516.

I would like to find speakers for this equipment in the range of PLN 100-200.

Could someone recommend something to make it sound as good as possible ;) ?

I heard that you have to choose them skillfully, because you can easily burn such equipment. Unfortunately, I am a layman in this topic, so I would like to advise you before buying anything

I read that a preamplifier is also added to the speakers, but from what I can see, this turntable already has a built-in one.

I would be grateful for the offer

    greetings :)

You put an amplifier for your loudspeakers, not a preamplifier; Here, for this turntable, the amplifier can be any amplifier, with RCA input sockets and speakers

Ok, and you could offer me some speakers, which would sound nice at a reasonable price; and some sample amplifier? Sorry, but I'm a layman in the subject :(
    I would be grateful :)

This turntable has ONLY an equalizing preamplifier. It must be connected to the audio amplifier that "drives" the speakers. e.g. home theater with input for external devices, audio towers. The turntable itself will not start the speakers - there is no power amplifier. In order for the speakers (loudspeakers) to work, a stereo power amplifier is needed

    His details (turntable):
Frequency response 100 Hz - 12 kHz as you can see no revelation
Rotation speed 33/45 rev / min.
    Tremor & Vibration

Most often it is purchased as a set of amplifier and loudspeakers. The choice is wide, and the price range is also - you have to determine what you need

We are not some audiophiles ;) We just want it to sound somehow accessible ;) It had a reasonable frequency range :) and in order not to burn the turntable, of course :) It's supposed to be played at home in the room :)

For example, an amplifier and loudspeakers with the following parameters:

    AMPLIFIER PARAMETERS:

    MAX POWER 2 X 100W
    EFFECTIVE POWER RMS 20W
    LCD DISPLAY
    SIGNAL 85dB
    RADIO FM
    USB PORT AND SD CARD
    PLAYING MP3 FILES
    TRANSFER RANGE: 20 HZ - 20,000 HZ
    OPERATING WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL
    POWER SUPPLY 12V, 230V

    COLUMN PARAMETERS:

    Design features: 2 columns
    Woofer: 8 "
    Tweeter: 4.5 Titanium driver
Max power of the set: 400 W
    Impedance: 6 Ohm
    Frequency band: 20Hz - 20000Hz
    Efficiency: 97 dB
    Dimensions: 52 x 29 x 26 cm

    would work properly?

It is enough 2X20W for the room. What you presented is too much. The question is whether it has an input for connecting external devices because it is a basic need.

Show the source of this data because you can write anything and lie to the buyer. Already the beginning is strange 100W max but 20W RMS

My friend that the turntable has OUTPUTS, I know, I meant the proposed amplifier - or actually it is a set or has external signal inputs ..

    I meant this one :

This one can be - you need speakers with a minimum power of 30W and impedance (resistance) of 6 or 8 ohms. These 8 ohms are more popular. As the turntable has a preamplifier, in the case of this amplifier it should be connected to the AUX inputs. For this, there are special cables with CHINCH terminals

That was what it was all about. The latter loudspeakers are appropriate - at this price (good loudspeakers cost money). This is not a revelation but for a mid-range set they can be. I have proposed the same class above.

Okay, so it looks like I know everything already. Only could you tell me how to connect it exactly with these cables? I'd like to make sure you don't burn anything. Are two cables to be connected with these chinch-chinch ends to the inputs of the AUX / CD amplifier? The red tip and the white tip of the cables to the turntable and the other side to the amplifier?

White and red to the sockets marked AUX / CD and the other side to sockets marked L LINE OUT R on the turntable.

Each column should have two-color wires for connection to the amplifier. Connect the same wire colors from the column to the same terminal colors for each column, i.e. the red wire of the right column to the red R UOT terminal and the red wire from the left column to the red L OUT terminal - as shown in the picture. Of course, the colors can be any, it is about the connection itself to ensure a stereo effect

From what I can see, the red tip is to go under the OUT R and the white tip under the L Line on the turntable. And then the same to the L and R in the AUX / CD in the amplifier, so it would be ok, no? And these speakers should be plugged into the amplifier :) ?

Thanks, I was wondering whether or not to take a different amplifier, because in that auction the guy does not know what's inside and he does not give a guarantee. I am looking at this for example now:

I don't know this company. The parameters are OK, but the paper will accept everything. Looks better than the previous one. The same connection for AUX and the speakers for MASTER SPEAKER, FR is the right speaker (vertically) FL is the left one.
It is used, but can always be returned if it does not respond. Ultimately, you can connect to it a radio tuner, some CD / MP3 player

Here is 30 days to boot because it is in use. There is the problem that the guy who sells doesn't really know what's inside, he doesn't know. Hence, it seems to me that you can blend in a bit. You associate this first SANYO company better?

. They also give a video of how it plays:

I already wrote that the white ones are not for home. This is typical for a flat, their parameters are really mediocre. SANYO is a well-known and recognized company.

Both are used - the concerns are the same.

Could you still Profit something to suggest what cable to buy, unfortunately for the loudspeakers I do not have cables that could be connected to the amplifier. How to look for such? What names? And what parameters to make it fit ;) ? I would be grateful for the advice :)

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around finding suitable speakers for the Kruger Matz KM0516 turntable within a budget of PLN 100-200. Users clarify that the turntable has a built-in equalizing preamplifier, necessitating an external amplifier to drive the speakers. Recommendations for amplifiers and speaker sets are sought, with emphasis on ensuring compatibility in terms of power and impedance. Various speaker options are evaluated, including Philips and Aiwa models, with considerations for their specifications and suitability for home use. Users also discuss the importance of proper connections using RCA cables and speaker wires to avoid damaging the equipment.

FAQ

TL;DR: Rooms up to 20 m² need only 2×20 W RMS [Elektroda, zworys, post #17042915]; “SANYO is a well-known and recognized company” [Elektroda, zworys, post #17044710] Pair the Kruger Matz KM0516’s built-in phono preamp with any stereo amplifier that has RCA line-level inputs, then add 6–8 Ω speakers rated ≥30 W. Follow correct cabling to avoid damage.

Why it matters: Matching modest power and proper cabling protects the turntable and keeps costs low.

Quick Facts

Does the KM0516 need a preamp or a power amp?

It already contains an RIAA preamp, so you only need a stereo power amplifier (integrated amp) with RCA line inputs marked AUX/CD/Tuner [Elektroda, zworys, post #17042855]

Which speaker impedance and power rating should I pick?

Choose 6 Ω or 8 Ω speakers rated for at least 30 W continuous to match common vintage amps like the SANYO A36 [Elektroda, zworys, post #17044412]

Can the wrong speakers damage the turntable?

The danger comes from clipping amplifiers, not speakers. Using 4 Ω speakers on a budget amp can overheat the amp and mute sound — worst-case it blows its outputs, not the deck [Audioholics, 2021].

How do I cable the turntable, amp and speakers?

  1. Plug the red/white RCA from KM0516 “LINE OUT R/L” to amp “AUX” R/L [Elektroda, zworys, post #17044589]
  2. Strip 2×0.75 mm² speaker cable; keep polarity (marked strand = red terminal).
  3. Insert cables into amp “FR/FL” and corresponding speaker posts, matching colors; tighten caps. Expert tip: “Keep polarity identical for stereo imaging.” [Elektroda, zworys, post #17044589]

Why do some amps list 100 W max but only 20 W RMS?

Max (PMPO) is a short-burst figure; RMS reflects continuous, usable power. Expect roughly 1/5 of the PMPO claim to be real [Czerwinski, 2019].

Are bookshelf speakers preferable to PA cabinets for home listening?

Yes. Small PA boxes like TW501MK are voiced for speech, not music; budget bookshelf units give flatter response in rooms [Elektroda, zworys, post #17044527]

What affordable amplifiers suit the KM0516?

Used SANYO A36, Sony TA-FE370 or Pioneer A-109 models typically cost PLN 180–300 and include AUX inputs [Elektroda, pirx1988, post #17044335]

Which cables should I buy for speakers?

Ask for flat OMYp 2×0.75 mm² stranded copper cable; it handles up to 5 A and fits spring clips easily [Elektroda, zworys, post #17051729]

Edge case: What if I mistakenly plug the deck into the amp’s PHONO input?

The signal arrives pre-equalised, so the amp applies RIAA again, causing heavy bass cut and treble boost. Volume drops by about 20 dB — you may think the stylus is faulty. Switch back to AUX to fix it [Hi-Fi News, 2022].

How efficient should budget speakers be?

Look for ≥87 dB @ 1 W/1 m. The Philips MCB-2300 advertises 97 dB, letting 20 W amps hit ~110 dB peaks, adequate for parties [Elektroda, pirx1988, post #17043961]

Can I play MP3s through the same amplifier?

Yes. Connect a phone or media player to another line input or use amps with USB/SD playback like the 2×20 W model discussed in-thread [Elektroda, pirx1988, post #17042885]
