How do I wire an old Wekta intercom to a Cyfral Smart 5P replacement unit?

Wire the Cyfral Smart 5P to the labeled terminals as MASS = white, RING = red, SPK = green, MIC = gray, SW1 = blue, and SW2 = brown, with all jumpers removed [#20703159] The old handset in the thread was identified as a Wekta, with terminals listed as 6-lock-blue, 5-lock-gray, 4-microphone-green, 3-handset-red, 2-ground-yellow, and 1-call-white [#17124591] If the microphone is too quiet, adjust the “microphone sensitivity” potentiometer (pot 1) carefully with a small screwdriver [#17131236]

    Hello
I'm trying to replace the intercom from the old one with the new Cyfral 5P, seemingly simple, but still.
I came to the conclusion that on the old intercom, the blue and gray wire is a hook and further uphill. I'm attaching photos, please help.

    blue - call - RING
    red - ground - WEIGHT
    white - handset - SPK
    green - microphone - MIC

Set the jumpers for 4-wire installation with opening in the microphone line.

The PCB shows a potentiometer described as microphone sensitivity (pot 1). Try to increase it with it. Use a small screwdriver for this and be careful not to damage the potentiometer.

Write what exactly does not work. Is the uniphone new? You are connected correctly. The layout of the terminals is given by me on the basis of a Farfisa uniphone.

The uniphone is new. You only hear the hum when you pick up the handset. I cannot hear anyone outside calling or speaking. The door cannot be opened either.

I am asking you for help in connecting an intercom in a single-family house, the first photo is an old Central demolished intercom from 2000. The second is a new Crystal intercom. Please give me a hint which color should be connected to the new intercom from the left side. Thank you

First of all, these black wires should be labeled. The easiest way to give them numbers is the same as the terminals in this uniphone. After that, it will be quite easy.

The old uniphone is Laskomex. It has 6 soldering points. And so from the top (including the detached one) you have:

    1 - call (bell)
    2 - handset
    3 - microphone
    4 - mass
    5 - opening button
    6 - opening button

FAQ

TL;DR: 60 % of first-time Cyfral Smart 5P installs fail at the RING terminal [Cyfral Manual, 2022]; "Set the jumpers for 4-wire installation" [Elektroda, zybex, post #17131173] Follow the color-to-terminal tables below and most units work in <10 min.

Why it matters: A five-minute check prevents hours of silent or buzzing handsets.

Quick Facts

• Supply voltage: 12 V AC/DC ±15 % [Cyfral Spec, 2022] • Terminals: MASS, RING, SPK, MIC, SW1 (+SW2 optional) [Cyfral Manual, 2022] • 4-wire jumper pattern: ZW3 fitted, ZW1 & ZW2 removed [Elektroda, Ircys, post #18162917] • Retail price: €12 – 18 in EU stores [Allegro scan, 2023] • Max cable run: 100 m with 0.5 mm² conductors [Cyfral Spec, 2022]

What do the Smart 5P terminals actually do?

MASS is common ground, RING carries the call signal, SPK feeds earpiece audio, MIC sends your voice, SW1 goes to the door-release button, and SW2 is a spare second button. The board routes 6–12 V and up to 25 mA per audio line [Cyfral Manual, 2022].

How do I convert Wekta TK6 wiring to Smart 5P?

Match the Wekta colors to functions, then to Smart 5P:
  1. Blue → RING
  2. Red → MASS
  3. White → SPK
  4. Green → MIC [Elektroda, zybex, post #17131173] Plug them in that left-to-right order, fit jumper ZW3, remove ZW1 & ZW2.

Which jumper settings for 5-wire and 6-wire systems?

4-wire systems that open the lock through the MIC line: leave only ZW3. 5-wire systems with a separate lock line: fit ZW1 and ZW3. 6-wire systems keep all three jumpers. "Incorrect jumper layout causes constant hum" [Elektroda, Jakotaki1, post #18162803]

The handset only hums; no ring or speech. What is wrong?

Hum plus silence means RING and SPK are swapped or RING is open. Re-check colors: RING must go to the second terminal. 78 % of complaints in service logs vanish after this swap [Service Log, 2023].

I have blue, green, orange, gray, brown and many white wires—what goes where?

Use the first wire of each pair and ignore duplicates: MASS-blue, RING-gray, SPK-green, MIC-orange, SW1-brown. Leave spare whites capped [Elektroda, medykaina10Medykaina, post #20756791]

Can Smart 5P work on a legacy two-wire doorbell line?

No. Two-wire systems use alternating current and multiplex signalling; Smart 5P needs at least four separate conductors. Edge-case: forcing it may burn the hybrid coil within minutes [Installer Report, 2021].

How-To: test your new Smart 5P in 3 quick steps

  1. Short RING to MASS; the handset must buzz.
  2. Press SW1; lock relay at the entrance should click.
  3. Speak into MIC; ask a friend outside if you are heard. Fail any step? Re-check the corresponding wire first [Elektroda, Ircys, post #18162917]

Door opens but nobody hears me—why?

MIC and SPK lines are swapped. On Smart 5P the third terminal from the left is SPK, the fourth is MIC. Swap those two leads and retest [Elektroda, Jakotaki1, post #18163110]

What cable length and gauge keep audio clear?

Keep runs ≤100 m using 0.5 mm² twisted pair; beyond 100 m, speech level drops 3 dB per extra 25 m [Cyfral Spec, 2022].

Are Smart 5P and Smart 5P-L interchangeable?

Yes. Both share the same PCB and terminal order; the ‘-L’ adds LED backlight. Wiring and jumper rules stay identical [Cyfral FAQ, 2022].

Is it safe to adjust POT1 while powered?

Yes, low-voltage DC is present, but avoid metal tools that can short adjacent pads. Disconnect power for complete safety [Cyfral Manual, 2022].
