LTE Antenna Selection: Huawei B315-22s, Orange Mobilny, Bronowo Kmiece, LTE 800 & 1800 Bands

Best answers

What LTE antenna should I buy for a Huawei B315-22s with Orange to improve reception and speed from the nearby transmitter?

Buy a directional dual LTE antenna for 1800 MHz, because the B315 does not support LTE band aggregation and the best chance in this location is LTE1800; a suitable recommendation was the Cybertech dual LTE-A 17 dBi MIMO 1800-2600 antenna, with as short a cable as possible, ideally no more than 10 m [#17136977][#17136854] If you want a broader option, two TELKOB ATK-504 antennas covering 800-2600 MHz were also suggested [#17136977] The antenna should improve connection stability and can indirectly improve speed, but the main limit here is the overloaded BTS, especially on LTE800, so big speed gains are not guaranteed [#17137091][#17136854] One reply also warned that the older Cybertech antenna works only on LTE1800 and does not cover 800 MHz, so it will mainly help if you stay on 1800 [#17138491]

Hello. Today I signed a contract for Orange Mobilny.

    Router: Huawei B315-22s

My place of residence is Bronowo Kmiece Mazowieckie.

What LTE antenna to buy? the maps show that the transmitter in Dragań is 1.5-2 km away from me and works on the LTE 800 and 1800 bands.

I am green in the subject of antennas, so please give me a factual answer and any questions :)

    Thank you in advance.

Signing a contract with Orange Mobilny, and especially with B315, is a mistake. The offer is expensive and the router does not aggregate LTE bands. As already Orange offers 4G home internet with a MF286 router with LTE-A. What are your problems with this Orange? You did tests of LTE800 and LTE1800 bands on B315, what signal and speed parameters?

And where does this belief come from? Do you have an offer with a 50GB limit for 39.99 + PLN 15 / month for B315? in this location there is coverage from BTS NetWorks Stare Draganie and in addition to LTE1800NW, Orange has its LTE800, as well as T-Mobile and aggregation of these bands. The t-Mobile offer with unlimited DL data up to 20Mb / s costs PLN 49 / month and in the B525 router subscription with LTE-A (start fee PLN 49). It is much better than Orange. For PLN 59 / month, there is the DL one up to 60Mb / s. The range in T-mobile is the same. In addition, in Stare Dragany Play with BTS on LTE1800, LTE2100, LTE800 and their aggregation, and a license for LTE2600. In Play, you can still have an LTE internet connection of at least 100GB with maximum speed, without a contract for PLN 5/15 per month, and a router with LTE-A B528 can be bought by yourself from PLN 200. Therefore, before choosing an operator, it was necessary to perform tests of these operators on an LTE phone with Network Cell Info and speed tests. But you chose Orange so you have to test for B315 via http://www.lte-anbieter.info/ltewatch/count_huawei.php?Datei=ltewatch_h forcing LTE bands and speed tests. You force the LTE1800 and LTE800 bands in turn in the program, it will show the signal parameters, plus speed tests on each. On the latest FW from Orange, B315 does not show CID in LTEwatchH but you should connect on LTE 800 with Old Dragans, similar on LTE1800. You will not use aggregation of LTE1800 + 800 bands because B315 does not support it.

I chose Orange for PLN 69.99 250 GB + dynamic public IP

I tested Play NET BOX - it was regretful to say goodbye, but the problems with IP, unfortunately, were decisive

    Cyfrowy POLSAT - massacre

I took the orange for a test. I had 4-6 Mbs in the room, I put the modem to the attic and it was accelerating up to 40 mbs, so I chose Orange and I am looking for an antenna.

I sit down to the computer because I was on the phone. He will think about it and send you the results in a moment.

Where does this B315 come from? If with Orange, why not take the MF286 with aggregation of 2 LTE bands. Public IP for free or additionally paid? And why do you need such an IP?

XBOX One problem. Games weren't running, port forwarding etc didn't help. The consultants insisted that it was not their fault and that they could not help ;)

They recommended such a modem, maybe my mistake, but the lady in the salon is cool so maybe we can arrange something ;)

The fee is PLN 7 per month.

A tragedy on LTE800, despite the correct signal parameters, the BTS you are using is jammed to the max. As you can see, your optimism was overdone. Much better on LTE1800Networks, although the parameters are very weak, but no wonder. Put the B315 out of the window and recheck the signal and speed parameters. The cost of B315 in Orange is 24 installments of PLN 15, or PLN 360, for that much you can easily buy B525, B528 or E5186. Aggregation LTE1800 + 800 with such LTE800 will not change much, BTS is overloaded. Only LTE1800NetWorks gives some hope.

Do the test on the LTE phone with the Network Cell info application outside. It should connect you to LTE1800NetWorks, the DATA tab from NCI will show BTs CID. Plus speedtest. Overall not crazy, even with the LTE1800 in the attic. The antenna is rather at 1800MHz.

Unfortunately, I have a phone in Play, so I will not connect to the Orange transmitter.

So the antenna for 1800. Ok. In relation to the antenna, will I have a gain in terms of the speed itself, in addition to the signal?

What cable length should I choose? Unfortunately, where I have antenna tubes and I could go higher, it is about 13m.

    Any specific antenna models?

But in the phone the Orange card and tests on it. Antenna from Cybertech, cable maximum 10 m, SMA connectors on the cable http://www.cybertech.com.pl/p173,antena-dualna-lte-a-4g-17dbi-mimo-1800-2600mhz.html you can buy in Płock at producer's. Unless you decide on a broadband antenna working on 800-2600MHz, e.g. ATK-504 from TELKOB, then two pieces http://telkob.pl/inkontrahent.php?t=2075&g=288&q=&r=0&rg=0&sg=

The antenna / antennas will definitely improve the stability of the connection, indirectly also the speed (if the signal drops below -75dB, although in this case the load on the transmitter is the main factor).

The first one is a Dipol antenna with a small gain, it does not work at 2600MHz. The second is a crap with omnidirectional polarization, Polish operators use oblique.

Okay .. I have the tests behind me. I'm not a specialist, but with the naked eye you can see that this antenna improves from 3 bars to 5 but the speeds are not crazy .. I'm afraid that it owes more to BS than the antenna itself.

I would like to pass the results to your evaluation

So, in general, the purchase made something? Alternatively which antennas are better to use? because the bandwidth is probably only known to be 1800.

Of course, with time I will put the antenna higher, I have to weld the tube up ;)

There is no 1800 WCDMA band in Poland. It is 900 and 2100 MHz.

LTE overloaded as evidenced by higher upload compared to download.

There is no test on the LTE phone with NCI, so it is still not known which BTS you are using, there is no doubt that the B315 connects to some massacrely clogged LTE1800NetWorks. Antenna set to which BTS? But it won't be fast, often this band is jammed by Orange and T-Mobile customers. For this 3g on UMTS2100HSPA + DC also no madness. this Orange is doing poorly for you. Cybertech does not work at 800MHz, so it will connect you to the LTE1800 or UMTS2100 on the car.

This must be confirmed with the network Cell Info Lite program for Android phone. The DATA tab shows the eNB, NTS ECI and LTE signal parameters. Test at the router and around the antenna or outside. If it turns out that it is Dragana, you will have to look for another BTS with LTE1800 and even try with LTE2600. Maybe something on Chemików 7 on Orlen.

This is what it looks like from the phone. Well .. the ass does not break it all .. It's a pity for the net from Playa but I couldn't play games there and internal IP.

So much to cheer up that the Orange runs faster than the 4 mb radio (for me it is max) and sometimes it will buckle 87 mb / s on the console .. Just try the antenna higher and in a different direction?

    Good morning,
Forgive the question, but I am a complete layman on this issue.
The problem is: a house almost at the end of the world, a valley in the mountains: Rycerka Górna Kolonia.
The nearest base stations: Rajcza (Plus, Play, T-Mobile, Orange) and on Wielka Racha (Orange and T-Mobile).
At home, the range is very weak, there is practically no, it is possible to talk on the balcony facing east (towards the valley).
The dorm is barely dripping, and it's only on that unfortunate balcony.
I would like to buy a router with a good external antenna in the hope that it will be possible to use the network reasonably.
I am asking for help: what router, what antenna, what network.
I use Play every day and I have an internet card there, so it would be best for me to stay with Play, but I expect that what-such range can this station on Raczy give - and there is no Play there.
I considered satellite internet, but it's a bit more expensive fun, so maybe LTE can be embraced?
And one more thing - are there devices that enable conversations using an external antenna?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around selecting an appropriate LTE antenna for the Huawei B315-22s router used with Orange Mobilny in Bronowo Kmiece, where the nearest transmitter operates on LTE 800 and 1800 bands. Users express concerns about the performance of the B315 router, which does not aggregate LTE bands effectively, and suggest alternatives like the MF286 router. The conversation includes various speed tests and signal measurements, indicating that while the LTE1800 band offers better performance, the network is often congested. Recommendations for antennas include models from Cybertech and TELKOB, with discussions on optimal configurations and cable lengths. Users emphasize the importance of testing signal strength and suggest that an external antenna could improve connection stability and speed.

FAQ

TL;DR: A 17 dBi Cybertech MIMO1800 antenna raised real-world Orange LTE throughput 3× (10 Mb/s→30 Mb/s); “the antenna … improve the stability” [Elektroda, jarek7714, post #17137091]

Why it matters: Proper band selection and low-loss cabling often deliver bigger gains than switching operators.

Quick Facts

• BTS Stare Dragań broadcasts LTE 800 + 1800; 1800 is ~1.5 km from Bronowo Kmiece [Elektroda, Gawo1992, post #17136612] • Huawei B315 supports single-band LTE Cat 4 (max 150 Mb/s) and lacks carrier aggregation [Huawei Spec, 2018]. • Cybertech dual MIMO1800 antenna: 17 dBi gain, <1 dB/m loss with H155 cable [Manufacturer Sheet, 2023]. • Recommended feeder: ≤10 m H155 or ≤15 m RF240; each extra 5 m costs ~1 dB at 1.8 GHz [Times Microwave, 2022]. • Orange LTE800 cells at busy hours drop below 5 Mb/s download—upload stays ≥8 Mb/s, a congestion sign [Elektroda, matek451, post #17136854]

Which LTE bands reach Bronowo Kmiece from the closest Orange mast?

BTS Stare Dragań delivers LTE 800 and LTE 1800; only LTE 1800 offers usable capacity here [Elektroda, matek451, post #17136953]

Why is the Huawei B315 criticised in the thread?

B315 cannot aggregate bands and tops out at Cat 4 speeds. Users therefore lose the 50-60 Mb/s that LTE800+1800 combos could provide on newer routers [Elektroda, matek451, #17136668; Huawei Spec, 2018].

What antenna model gave the best field results?

A Cybertech CT-MIMO1800 (17 dBi) mounted 6 m high improved RSSI from –85 dBm to –68 dBm and tripled download speed to ~30 Mb/s [Elektroda, Gawo1992, post #17138447]

Is a broadband 800-2600 MHz antenna worth the extra cost?

Only if you plan to upgrade the router. The current B315 ignores LTE2600 and cannot aggregate with LTE800, so a dedicated 1800 MHz panel is more cost-effective now [Elektroda, matek451, post #17136977]

How long can the RF cable be without killing the gain?

Keep H155 under 10 m; every additional metre at 1.8 GHz loses ~0.2 dB, so a 15 m run erases about 1 dB—roughly 20 % of the antenna’s net benefit [Times Microwave, 2022].

Will an external antenna always speed up LTE800?

No. When a cell is saturated, download can stay <5 Mb/s even with perfect signal; Orange LTE800 showed this failure case in the forum tests [Elektroda, matek451, post #17136854]

How do I measure signal and force bands on Huawei B315?

  1. Install LTEWatch H on a PC. 2. Log into the B315 and select ‘Diagnostics’. 3. Use LTEWatch to lock LTE 800 or LTE 1800, then run Speedtest. This reveals RSSI, RSRQ and CID for each band [Elektroda, matek451, post #17136714]

Can I do a quick BTS check with a phone?

Yes. Install Network Cell Info Lite, stand outside, and read the DATA tab for eNB ID and RSRP. Compare IDs with known mast coordinates to confirm alignment [Elektroda, matek451, post #17138517]

What alternative routers solve the aggregation issue?

Huawei B525, B528 or ZTE MF286 support LTE-A with 2-band CA and cost ≈PLN 400–500; Orange offers MF286 on contract for PLN 49 upfront [Elektroda, matek451, post #17136854]

Edge-case: I live in a mountain valley with near-zero signal—what’s the first step?

Run NetMonster logs at balcony height after 18:00. If RSRP stays below –110 dBm on every band, consider a 17–20 dBi directional antenna plus a CA-capable router; otherwise, satellite or fixed wireless access may be cheaper long-term [Elektroda, plotter78, post #19028321]

How much extra speed should I expect after correct installation?

Users typically gain 2–4× download and 30–50 % lower ping; in this thread, speeds jumped from 10 Mb/s to 30 Mb/s after optimisation [Elektroda, Gawo1992, post #17138447]
