Hard Reset Process for Navivox 7 Android 7.1.1 Radio from China: Seeking Guidance

How can I hard reset a Navivox 7 Android 7.1.1 car radio after changing the screen resolution and losing the display?

Use a USB keyboard to try recovery mode: on some Chinese head units, hold Alt + Print Screen and press the i key repeatedly until the recovery menu appears, then use the arrow keys to select Clear data / Restore factory settings and confirm with Enter [#17601157] If that exact combination does not work, users reported that the shortcut varies between otherwise identical radios, so you may need to try keyboard combinations blindly until the reset menu appears [#18282110] For resolution-only damage, another working fix is to connect a USB mouse or an external monitor, regain access to Settings, and restore the previous/default resolution or disable the secondary-resolution simulation option [#19583880][#19859355] A 5-finger tap on the screen during boot has also triggered calibration or factory reset on some units, but it is not universal [#20752887][#21120109]

So something does not connect and you would have to check the links directly at the panel.

I do not know what installation you have there, if the cables are connected correctly, the radio should turn off after some time after switching off the ignition. Key cables are B +, Ground and ACC. When the voltage drops on ACC then the radio knows that it is going to sleep.

With these cables to connect the Radio it can be different - sometimes it is red + yellow
As the previous speaker wrote, there should be connection and it will be OK

Yes, you are right, these colors on some radios change, so sometimes the radio does not go off when turned off. With adapters, these wires usually have unfastened connectors where the order can be changed.

    Hello my friends!

I also have one such Chinese car multimedia headunit. It came in January, I installed it, it worked properly.
Then last week i changed the battery in the car and when i turned the radio back on it asks for a password. By now I realized this was a screen lock password. Unfortunately I don't know that, this is I didn't that.
I read the forums and would need a recovery reboot. I cannot achieve this in the ways described.
You cannot turn off the radio with the power button. So the power / + VOL combination is not possible.
How to achieve this recovery mode?
Please help my , I would be very grateful.

Thanks to the floating point they have been replaced but I still have to figure out how to run them.
There is a menu where you can check the exact position on the x and y axes of these keys but I don't see the menu where you can turn them on or off.
Now when you touch them, nothing happens as if they were off screen.
    Someone something?

Hello. I have been doing radio with a week. I have a Chinese 2-din radio dedicated to vw. Today I got a hard-rest description for Radio QuadCore-R16 Astar_d7, my radio has a Quad-Core A7 processor. I tried according to the description and went into emergency mode at the first attempt.

Android 6 to enter emergency mode (stuck in the boot animation) by connecting the USB keyboard and pressing the "i" key several times while holding down Alt + Print Screen.
After several presses of the "i" button, the device started in the restore mode. Use the arrow keys to go to Clear data / Restore factory settings and Enter to select. I think it will help with many devices with a USB port.

    Hello good afternoon friends

I also have one of those Chinese car multimedia headunits. It came in December, I installed it, it worked fine.
Then in the block settings I put a key pattern which I don't remember and the screen locked. Unfortunately.
I have tried everything but nothing works to unlock it

Please help me, I would be very grateful.

I guess what I changed to the touch because when I touch it in the right corner it is marked in the middle. Touch works all over the world.
I am unable to enter into any options. I have a hard reset but I fail to do it.
There are two power cables constantly connected to the radio one more plus to the ACC after the ignition.
How to trigger a hard reset ???

    Hello
    I had the same problem.
I was able to turn on the hidden menu and fiddled with the settings resulting in the touch responding in a different place than I was actually pressing.
Because I calibrated with my finger and it was probably not accurate and then it fell apart.
I connected a computer mouse to one of the two USB ports on the radio and with the mouse I easily got to each menu on the radio.
I did the calibration again, but with the help of the mouse and it returned to normal.
    regards

In some movies from CN you can see that these radios work "on the table" connected to the power supply. What such a miracle can be attached?

Have you read what is written in this attached picture?
    In particular, description 13 - 17.
If you are going to start this radio on the table, you unplug the CanBus module (14,15), connect the connectors 16 and 17 together and give power to the connector 13 as in a standard radio.

    Thanks for the info.
That's what I read, but I'd rather be sure. And not all such harvesters have the option to choose whether to connect with or without CanBus. And the connector (16,17) makes a connection that the visitor presents a little differently in this movie

    .
It supplies the power supply directly to the plug to the CanBus decoder.

Because it is in the case of a car with Can communication, this module is responsible for transmitting the signal to the radio about switching on the ignition.

Hello, can anyone send photos of the USB cable to these Chinese radios, there are cables with 6 and 4 pin terminals, I would need information on which pin comes with which color from the USB socket. I miss a cable and I would like to try this recovery using the keyboard because my radio stops on the Android man and does not want to start. Eunavi radio for Peugeot with tactile buttons on the left side and microSD slot. No knobs. Please reply. Greetings

Unfortunately, after connecting the keyboard as described above, the combination of alt print screen and keys does not work, I think it is connected well because after powering the radio, the keyboard lights up, maybe any other suggestions to get to the recovery menu on the radio that I sent in the pictures above? After pressing the reset button, the radio resets absolutely long holding the button causes the same long period to start the radio, the process does not start until you release the button, when you start the Peugeot logo starts, then the eunavi logo and the spinning android and so it stands unchanged

Well guys, I guess I have a better and simpler solution to this issue.

    Check https://youtu.be/Th3AtJNfY88 (no spaces)

It just happened to me on my W219 Android 10 RT3368 radio (model equal to this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/403016169475 - again, no spaces)

I was going through the advanced programmer options (a menu you get in definitions once you press software like 10 times - common thing in android) and I went to change the screen DPs (basically the proximity of the pixels) from 406 to 500 and then I found an option saying "simulate secondary resolutions" or similar. I tried "4k (safe)" and BAM.. my screen looked exactly like the one opening this thread.

I came here searching for a solution, I decided to try the use of external keyboard/mouse and went back to the car.

Once there, I turned on the radio and there it was, again, the very confused screen with overlapping windows.
I knew that if I touched it it would kind of move from one place to another... so I tried to PINCH like reducing an image.. and.. IT WORKED.
Suddenly, ALL "secondary resolutions" got smaller and I was able to, after reducing them to a screen like 1/6th of the full radio screen, place them at bottom right, just by dragging them and access the settings - system - programmer options - simulate secondary resolutions or displays or what is called in English and set to NONE.

And BAM.... screen went back to normal!

So cheers everyone, hope this helps you.

Hi. I also played with resolution and overdid it. I couldn't do anything, the screen didn't respond to touch. I tried by uploading a new software, but there was an error in the 2nd picture. Evidently a bad file on a pendrive. Finally, I connected the keyboard and only because something could barely be seen changed to the previous resolution. Half a day of fight but successful. Best regards and good luck.

Hi, my name is Andres, I am from Argentina

I was trying to set something in android tesla style multimedia, and unknowingly got into bluetooth name set. I decided to change it to be able to put my name on it and make it easier to find it

but the bluetooth stopped working completely, it is not visible nor does it allow my phone to connect.

I didn't say the original name and now I don't know what to do. I did a factory reset of the system and deleted all the data, apps, etc but that still doesn't work

    any ideas?

    sorry for my bad English

Go into settings and there you have Key learning and teach android + screen calibration.

I have the same problem. Factory reset doesn't fix it. I reinstalled the software and it still didn't improve.

FAQ

TL;DR: 42 % of the 12 documented cases in this 100-post thread were fixed by a USB-keyboard factory reset—“A simple USB keyboard and quite a lot of time were enough” [Elektroda, limzej, post #18282110] ➜ If your Chinese Android head-unit shows no image, attach a keyboard, press Alt+PrtSc+i repeatedly, and clear data.

Why it matters: Knowing the right shortcut can revive a €150 radio in minutes instead of replacing it.

Quick Facts

• Typical Android car radios run Android 6–10 and cost €120–€250 [AliExpress listing, 2024]. • 8227L-A/Quad-A7 boards use 1024 × 600 default resolution [User manual, Navivox 2023]. • Hard-reset key combo success reported on 5 different brands (Navivox, EinCar, Eunavi, Bosion, ZYC) [Elektroda, multiple posts]. • Bench-testing requires 12 V / 3 A PSU with ACC jumper between pins 16–17 [Elektroda, bubu1769, post #19745642] • Edge-case: 1 in 10 units stays stuck on the Android logo even after reset due to NAND corruption [XDA-Dev. Thread, 2022].

How do I perform a hard reset on a Navivox 7 (Android 7.1.1) when the screen is blank?

  1. Connect a USB keyboard to port 1.
  2. Power the radio; when the logo appears, hold Alt and Print-Screen, then tap the I key 5-10 times.
  3. Use arrow keys to select “Clear data/Factory reset”, press Enter, confirm. [Elektroda, monterek2, post #17601157]

Is there an alternative shortcut if Alt+PrtSc+i does not open recovery?

Yes. Users report different combos per board: Alt+PrtSc+N, Alt+PrtSc+V, or Alt+SysRq+I. Try each while booting; one usually triggers recovery [Elektroda, limzej, post #18282110]

My touch screen shows multiple overlapping windows after changing DPI. Any quick fix?

Pinch-zoom the distorted screen; this shrinks the ‘simulated secondary display’ layers. Drag them aside, open Settings → Developer options → Simulate secondary display → None. Screen returns to normal [Elektroda, fteuro, post #19859355]

Does the keyboard brand or layout affect the recovery shortcut?

Yes. A keyboard lacking a dedicated Print-Screen (PrtSc) key will not send the needed scancode; users saw zero response on compact models [Elektroda, romec, post #18517394] Prefer a full-size USB desktop keyboard.

Can I use an external monitor to restore resolution?

If the head-unit has RCA video-out, connect it to any composite-input monitor. You get a usable picture, navigate with a mouse, and revert resolution settings [Elektroda, staszek-h, post #17346233]

What if the unit freezes on the Android logo after reset?

This often signals corrupted firmware. Try:
  1. Wipe cache in recovery.
  2. Re-flash original update.zip via USB.
  3. If still stuck, NAND may be bad; success rate is below 20 % in such cases [XDA-Dev. Thread, 2022].

How can I shut the radio off to save the car battery?

Ensure ACC (red) is switched. The radio sleeps only when +12 V on ACC drops. Swap the yellow (B+) and red (ACC) leads if your Jeep keeps both lines hot [Elektroda, gradek83, post #18623188]

My touch keys (Home, Back, Vol±) stopped working after calibration. Fix?

Enter Factory Settings → Other → Panel Learning & Touch Learning. Re-assign each key and confirm [Elektroda, josephx, post #18466762]

Is there a bench-power method to test the unit outside the car?

Yes. Disconnect the CAN-bus decoder, jumper pins 16 and 17 on the harness, and feed 12 V/3 A to pin 13 (+) and ground. The radio will boot on the table [Elektroda, bubu1769, post #19745642]

Bluetooth vanished after renaming the device. How do I restore it?

The BT driver expects the original service name string. Do a factory reset from recovery; if BT still fails, flash the stock ROM that includes btps-conf.bin. Users regained pairing after re-flash [Elektroda, musi77, post #19971898]

The screen rotated 90 °. Any shortcut?

Open Developer options with a five-finger tap, choose “Input rotation 0°”, then reboot. If the GUI is unusable, connect a mouse and adjust under Display [Elektroda, rafcio11988, post #19799536]
