Choosing a contactor for domestic circuits - 20A AC1 sufficient?

Welcome,

I would like to cut off electrical circuits in the house using a contactor.
What kind of contactor will ensure long term operation ?
I have up to 8 sockets on one circuit. On which will be typical household sockets from TV, radio, computer, hair dryer, iron ?
I have standard 16A B fused circuits.

Will a 20A AC1 contactor be sufficient ?
A 4 pole contactor, one pair of contacts per circuit.

What experience do you have on this subject.
