Yesterday I had a break-in into the basement and, in addition to the bicycle, I lost a box with Chinese Mastermax power tools (angle grinder, orbital grinder and jigsaw). Soon, Lidl will have a 12V battery grinder for 76mm discs for PLN 156

This is a Bosch GWS 12V-76 clone, I saw the Bosch movies and it's great, but Bosch is almost PLN 400. I never cut big things, rather small things like cases or computer parts (cooling), and I don't do it often. So it would be much handier than 115/125. I also have 2 mini-grinders, but sometimes larger sheets or squares do not make sense to "smear" with a mini-grinder, but the big one is not handy and imprecise.

What do you think about such devices?

PS. I already have a tiny Parkside PMST 100 jigsaw and even though I have used it only once, it is very fun to work with.

Hello, maybe this answer is a bit late, but I recommend the equipment, nice, quite strong, handy and like a 3-year warranty

Grinder only for small and short work. After 10 minutes of cutting in mine, the battery got so hot that it burned my hand. The charger did not want to recharge because the battery electronics protection cut off the power. Only after 15 minutes, when it cooled down, the charger started working and was charged.

I take it in a box for anything ... to trim an old sintered bolt, pins, etc.
For work in the field and at heights - a fairy tale. There is not much cutting time on 2 Ah.
At 1.5 Ah from the screwdriver, it does not even start (you have to turn off the dead 2Ah and quickly replace the battery  ) and 4 Ah I did not check.

Now you don't have to wait for it to appear in Lidl stores because everything is available on their website. I just don't know how to return it because in stores there is no problem, they accept it without saying a word. Recently I bought a spare battery for this grinder and it sneezes! It turned out that Parkside did not know why he changed the battery model (the old one has the PAP symbol) and the new one is PAPK, and they differ in the spacing of two linear protrusions that enter the grooves of the handle. Well, the new one does not enter the grinder. I cut both tabs for wallpaper and now it comes in without a problem because both the housing and the location of the contacts are identical in both batteries. I also bought a second Parksid device, a cutter for cardboard and PVC carpets and it already has a PAPK battery, but having batteries with cut off tabs, I can use them interchangeably on both devices.

For me, the PAPK battery does not want to work in the grinder, it only makes a bit of a turn and stops, but when the battery is not inserted into the socket, but connected with wires outside, it looks as if the electronics in the battery cut it off at a high starting current, and when starting on the wires, resistance cables limits the starting current and starts without problems. Does anyone have a similar problem, or how to solve it?

Try to attach two crocodile clips to the contacts in the grinder and connect the battery to the outside. I suspect that the battery after inserting into the grinder does not touch. I bent the contact plates a little in my grinder to make the contact more reliable because the current flows there. And I also put a piece of elastic under the plate foam rubber to make the pressure stronger. Maybe bending these plates will help you?

Topic summary

The discussion centers around the Parkside PWSA 12-Li 12V battery grinder, a budget-friendly alternative to the Bosch GWS 12V-76, priced at PLN 156. Users share mixed experiences, highlighting its suitability for small, short tasks but cautioning about battery overheating during extended use. One user noted that the grinder works well for fieldwork but has limited cutting time with a 2 Ah battery. Issues with battery compatibility were raised, particularly regarding the new PAPK battery model, which some users found did not fit properly in the grinder. Suggestions for improving battery contact were provided, including bending contact plates for better connectivity. Overall, the Parkside grinder is seen as a practical tool for light tasks, though users should be aware of potential battery issues.
