Hi. I noticed today that the bezel below the monitor screen on my laptop has started to peel off, on the right and left sides (the middle is ok). The gaps are wide enough that you could put 3/4 of a box of cards there. It does not interfere with the functioning of the computer. However, I do not want it to have greater consequences over a period of time, e.g. a few days.
What can I do in this situation?
Can I put some droplets in there and glue these places? Maybe double-sided tape? Will the matrix stick to the case?
Does the computer need to be taken apart?
Does the case need to be replaced? What does it look like

The hardware is no longer under warranty.

I am attaching a photo of what it looks like.

Such an effect may be related to a loose hinge ("pushes out" the frame) - it is worth taking apart and looking at - perhaps it is enough to tighten the screws and assemble.

I would only add that it is best to do this as soon as possible, before the hinges tear the mounts from the flap and/or break the frame.

Will there be any video on yt how to do it? Or someone will suggest a few words.

Watch the frame for screws - they may be in the corners under masking stickers or rubber bands, there may be more than two on the top edge. After removing them, gently separate the frame - it is held on the latches, it would be nice not to break them, so you need to do it sensitively. If any of them break, the tragedy will not be.... After removing the frame, you will have the hinges on top. Tighten the screws, also with feeling, you need to eliminate the play, without breaking the thread cast. If you can not tighten - I rather suggest to visit the service, probably the cover will be for replacement (maybe it can be glued).

From what I remember HP in these laptops gave double-sided tape in this place. Remove the frame gently and check. If this is the case, then replace the tape and it will be ok. Only replace it does not mean glue a new one. You need to get rid of the old one. Otherwise everything will stick out.
Don't forget to tighten the hinges at the same time, as colleagues wrote earlier.

If there is such a large gap, then probably the plastic brackets of the hinge mount already detached. You need to look around for a new matrix housing.

First of all you need to take apart o look at it.
Here you have a video of replacing the matrix - it is shown how to remove the frame: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyF18utBPLE
As you take the frame off, look at the mounts of the hinges and guides to the flap - whether there is slack, whether there are under-tightened screws, whether there are torn fasteners, etc.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a W230SS laptop with a peeling bezel below the monitor screen. Users suggest that the issue may stem from loose hinges, which could be causing the frame to detach. Recommendations include taking apart the laptop to inspect and tighten screws, as well as checking for any damaged plastic brackets. Some users mention that HP laptops typically use double-sided tape in this area, advising to replace the tape after removing the old one. If the gap is significant, it may indicate that the hinge mounts are detached, potentially necessitating a replacement of the matrix housing. A video link is provided for guidance on disassembling the frame and inspecting the hinges.
