[ESP8266 NodeMCU+BME280+ThingSpeak] Station does not start, I2C does not detect sensors

Dear forumers,

I have started to assemble the measuring station according to the description posted here:
Link .
I've been struggling with this for a month now and the circuit won't start.
SCL of the sensor connected to D4, SDA to D3.
The sample program does not detect the sensor.
I2C scanner does not detect the sensors (I have two).

Failed sensors?
How to get this working?
