    Hello,

I have the following problem. The filling valve of the classic cistern has stopped filling the tank. After cleaning the valve and checking the efficiency of the float, I installed it again. Did not work. I decided to replace it. After the exchange, everything was ok for 3 days. After 3 days, it stopped filling again. The filter was completely dirty with rust / stone chips. After cleaning, I connected it again. It worked once, and then stopped working. I tried to replace it with an old valve. Again, it worked once and the end. It pours from the hose normally. The float is working properly. I don't want to buy the valve again because I'm afraid it will happen again in 3 days. Has anyone had a similar situation? I spread my hands at the moment and I have no more ideas.

Each closing and opening of the valve before the hose can cause the introduction of impurities (sediment, sand) into the cistern valve again. if you have a strainer valve, try cleaning it.

You need to find the cause of the problem, if they are contaminants from the water supply system, then you should consider whether flushing the pipes once or would help. I use slant filters at home before installation in hot and cold water, I clean them from time to time, which is simpler than repairing the installation, from time to time, only such a filter needs to be installed at the time of reconstruction of the installation, a plumber offered me without taking a zloty for installation, he did it during the installation of water meters. I only paid for material. And yet it happens that when the cistern sticks and does not pour water after draining it, just tap the water container and it unlocks.
    Have a nice day.

As I said, I have cleaned the strainer several times. Currently, no deposits are even collected there. Everything is clean and looks functional but does not work. I will add that after connecting with the hose, water is poured into the tank for a split second, and then stops. : /

If I lived at home, I would, but I rent a flat, and the owner, so to speak, is "stingy" for any new investments. I will definitely get out of here as soon as possible, but for now I would like to solve this problem because it is damn annoying.

I do not know if we understand each other well? Filter (strainer) in valve on the wall, and the filter (strainer) in the cistern valve are two separate (different) elements.

Let the owner repair, since it is his apartment, in such cases the repair costs are divided in half between the owner and the tenant.
It probably won't work. But if you start rummaging through the installation and flooding someone's apartment, there will be costs.
    Good luck.

Right, I understood it a little differently. Excuse me. However, I would like to point out that currently no impurities on the strainer in the cistern after unscrewing the valve on the wall are not found, and the water flows without any problem from the hose. Maybe it actually clogged after a dozen or so uses, but currently the strainer is clean and the water does not go on. : /

In the flushing valve, there is a very small hole through which water flows. Did you check it

As for the opening behind the strainer in the valve at the cistern, it is unobstructed. Unfortunately, I can't turn the valve more to see if there is something deeper. Can you possibly try to stuff something?

If the filter in the filling valve connection is clean, either the water supply is blocked where the membrane with the valve works or the membrane is damaged.
To check it, you still have to remove it from the cistern and if it is the fault of the damaged diaphragm, buying a new valve will not strain your colleague's wallet: https://sklep.instato.pl/pl/zawor-napelniajacy-3-8.html? gclid = CjwKCAjwvNXeBRAjEiwAjqYhFs1AbRdKh70AakLRAPIR3qo6mPiUS0D3q1SCCHKsLBCd2VkeWLnAYBoCvG0QAvD_BwE
To buy such a valve at a good price, if necessary, it is worth checking the offer of DIY stores.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a malfunctioning cistern filling valve that intermittently fails to fill the tank. The user has cleaned the valve and float but continues to experience issues, particularly with rust and stone debris clogging the filter. Responses suggest checking for contaminants in the water supply, cleaning the strainer, and inspecting the diaphragm of the valve for damage. The user expresses frustration with the situation, especially as they are renting and hesitant to invest in repairs. Suggestions include flushing the pipes and considering the installation of additional filters to prevent future blockages.
