Unfortunately I have not found a similar topic to clarify the topic so I am creating a new one.

I have 3 lights in the staircase, 1 on each floor.
On the ground floor there are 2 so-called bell switches to which 2 wires go.
On the first and second floor there is one bell switch each and 2 cables go to each switch.
In addition, on the ground floor there is a staircase automatic switch which turns on the lights in the entire staircase for a set period of time when a button is pressed.

Can I replace one of the switches on the ground floor with a movement sensor, will this work?
    Is a special sensor needed?
Additionally, can I change the rest of the buttons to ones with illumination, or does this require an additional power supply?

I don't really want to change the installation due to wall chiselling and pushing with the community.
Changing the switches and fitting a sensor is, of course, agreed.

Generally, this is done in a different way, by removing the switches and automatic staircase lights, and replacing all the lights with motion-sensor plafond lights. The cost of such a plafond is about 100 PLN each.

But you can also use the sensor itself, yes it will work with the automatic staircase lighting, but then you have to supply power to the sensor, and the time of lighting the lamps will be prolonged by the time set on the sensor + time of the automatic staircase lighting. It would be better to replace the automatic staircase lighting with a motion sensor and at the same time remove the switches, but then all the lights will be lit only through one ?

Lamps are unfortunately out of the question, they are in such places that the motion sensor in such a lamp will not catch a person.

I wanted to apply the sensor only on the ground floor - it's quite far from the entrance, so that people don't dirty themselves and the wall - as I understand it, it's impossible to apply this without pulling an additional cable?
The rest of the switches are by the doors to the flats, so there is no need to install this sensor - unless for convenience, this is also worth considering.

And is it at least possible to use illuminated switches or does this also require an additional power supply?

The fact that 3 lamps light up at the same time for about 5 minutes is not a problem with LEDs at 4-5w each - not a big cost and probably nothing to fight about here.

Is it possible to do something sensible here without ripping up the walls?
