    Hello,
I am trying to install lighting in a room. A loft room with slants, the area is about 20m^2. I need to light it well for work/study, I just want it to be quite bright, of course keeping some moderation as well. Shining bright light at night is not pleasant, so it would have to be divided somehow. I have chosen a 4xGU10 ceiling lamp and this is where my question comes in. As I am already used to remote control and phone control I am considering choosing a smart device and this is where my question comes in.
Would it be better to use a Sonoff 2 channel switch and divide it into sections of two „bulbs” stronger and weaker, or to install a dimmer for the leds with 1 section (due to the comparable cost). I have not previously had any exposure to dimmers for LEDs running on mains voltage, only PWM on 12V. Other than that I would be interested to hear of any suggestions for brightness.
Alternatively I am also considering using LED tape and profile.

Something like this I have in mind https://github.com/arendst/Tasmota/wiki/Dimmer-switch-with-Nuvoton-chip

It's like debating the superiority of Christmas over Easter. A matter of individual taste. A dimmer, however, allows you to adjust the brightness optimally to suit your needs.

Thanks for the reply. However, I'm afraid I'll spend money on this and not be happy with the result and the dimmer will end up in the cupboard. I've read reviews about such dimmers and there are a lot of negative ones when it comes to Leds.
From what I have managed to read these dimmers operate on a triac, which „cuts” the sine wave. So aren&#8217t such dimmers only intended for decorative lighting? Won&#8217t I experience flickering, as with my work it could be tiring?
I have drivers for leds, then maybe it is actually better to consider mounting a profile with LEDs, to which some ESP and MOSFET?
