Does anyone have experience with LTE cat. 12 or cat 6 in TMobile in Poland, preferably in Krakow?
I am interested in whether it is worth investing in such a router and whether they actually support band aggregation as in the 12 or 6 standard.

What routers are we talking about exactly?

I'm thinking of Mikrotik wAP ac LTE6 kit

All mobile operators use at least the aggregation of 2 LTE bands, T-mobile in Krakow has base stations operating in the aggregation of 4 LTE bands, the basic requirement is to perform tests in your location on the card of this operator, LTE phone with at least 12 Android categories and the https application: //play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.mroczis.netmonster&hl=en_US will show the necessary data, test at home and outside and speedtests for it. Of course, this Mikrotik is too weak equipment in the case of 4 CC CA, and not worth the price, you can buy a router with 2 CC CA for PLN 250-300.

@matek451 thanks for the answer. What router would you recommend? I like Mikrotik because you can mount it directly outside and enter the building via ethenet. It's actually cat.6 on cat.12 I haven't found anything like it.

But this Mikrotik has a pseudo antenna inside with a gain of 3-4dBi, so it's a dummy of an external LTE access point, it's not very attractive in terms of price. You can buy WF830 with aggregation of 2 LTE bands and a directional antenna with a gain of 5-8dBi for PLN 350-500, they come from Play. 12 categories so far you will not buy because WF860 with aggregation of 4 LTE bands is unavailable, I have it but that's a different topic. And the selection of the router and antenna is always after the operator's tests, in this case t-mobile in your location.

I would love to buy this ZTE WF830 but somehow I don't see it at this price. It is for PLN 700 on Allegro, but it is not known if there is no simlock. Do you know if Play puts simlocks on these ZTW WF830?

All in all, I have a location very close to the BTS with visibility (300m in a straight line), so the gain of the antenna is probably not crucial for me. Apart from the antenna, is there any advantage of ZTE 830 over Mikrotik?

You were late, yesterday it was on Allegro for PLN 350 from a pawn shop, they don't have a simlock, I have two myself and they work with other operators, in FW you can manage the selection of bands for aggregation yourself, and select a specific PCI and carrier. It aggregates B7+B1 and B3+B1 which was not possible in Mikrotik because the modem did not support these combinations. At 300m from the base station, first do T-mobile tests inside the house on the LTE Android phone from https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.mrocis.netmonster&hl=en_US and show the screen from it because it may turn out that the signal is correct and for this speedtest. If the station has the aggregation of 4 LTE bands, b818 is bought for this.

The WF860 has completely disappeared from ZTE's website. Won't they introduce it?

Then buy any mikrotik with a MiniPCIe port and a modem of any category. Even 18. Unfortunately, the price of such a modem kills, well above PLN 1000 for the modem itself :-( But 300m with visibility ideal. High modulation will go, it will go if it is (or will be) despite 4x4.

Do you have cable/fiber in your city?

For almost 2 years, some standard Huawei with the housing removed sits on the roof in an airtight can with short antenna cables and generally does not complain.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around user experiences with LTE Cat.12 and Cat.6 routers in T-Mobile Poland, specifically in Kraków. Users inquire about the effectiveness of routers like the Mikrotik wAP ac LTE6 kit and ZTE WF830, particularly regarding band aggregation capabilities. It is noted that T-Mobile in Kraków supports aggregation of up to four LTE bands, and users are encouraged to conduct local tests using LTE phones to assess performance. The Mikrotik router is criticized for its weak internal antenna and limited band aggregation support, while the ZTE WF830 is recommended for its better performance and flexibility in band selection. Concerns about pricing and potential SIM locks on the ZTE device are also discussed, with users sharing insights on availability and performance based on proximity to base stations.
