I have internet from Multimedia and their Arris TG2492 WiFi router. Zero configurability of the router - through the operator's website, I can only change the name of my WiFi network.

Net was not stable from the beginning, but it gets worse as devices are added, and now, with the whole family at home, it is basically impossible to use the Internet. Devices: 2 laptops, 2 phones, HiFi system, external drive Seagate, television.

The tower and the disk are connected with a cable, the rest wirelessly. The Internet can freeze completely (no device connects to the Internet), or only some devices do not work and others work (e.g. the phone stops connecting to the Internet, I turn off WiFi and turn it on again, and I get the message "WiFi is not connecting In both cases only hard reset Arris helps. Problem reported to Multimedia, according to them everything is ok.

I plan to replace the equipment so that everything works properly. I know that I cannot give up the Multimedia modem completely, but can I connect another router to it with a cable and put the entire home network on it?

I was thinking about https://www.tp-link.com/en/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-c1200/ TP Link Archer C1200, will it work? And how will it be that I will have 2 WiFi networks at home - from Arris and from a new router?

Thanks in advance for your help,
    Luke

Better Unifi AP AC-Lite - proven good quality AP (or other AP from this stable), you do not need a router.
