As in the title, I have 4 normal SATA3 sockets to which I have disks connected and 2 ASATA3, I connected the disk to them, but the computer does not detect it. What are they for? The instructions don`t say anything specific either.

W instrukcji wyraźnie napisane jest. "11/12) ASATA3 0/1, SATA3 0/1/2/3 (SATA 6Gb/s Connectors) The SATA connectors conform to SATA 6Gb/s standard and are compatible with SATA 3Gb/s and SATA 1.5Gb/s standard. Each SATA connector supports a single SATA device. The SATA connectors support RAID 0,RAID1,and RAID10. Refer to Chapter 3,"Configuring a RAID Set," for istructions on configuring a RAID array. Do I understand correctly - if I want to connect drives in RAID1, I have to connect one to a socket, e.g. SATA 1, and the other to ASATA1?

It is clearly written, but what does it mean? Nothing for me, because my friend pasted one fragment from the manual, but I didn`t want to read the important part that answers the author`s question. And the important part is a bit further:

It clearly shows that if an SSD drive (SATA or PCIe, it doesn`t matter) is installed in the M2A slot, the ASATA ports will not work. The ASATA ports themselves have the same functionality as SATA ports and RAID can be performed on both.

The manual on page 18 describes everything about how and when to connect disks to ASATA3 ports. There is even an option in the BIOS to set the drives to a RAID system and detect the APU SATA drive.

This much is already known, because I posted the table from page 18 above.

I have a slightly different question. Understanding ASATA3 Ports on Aorus B450 Pro: Usage and Device Detection Issues

Does this highlighted in yellow indicate any damage?

NO. HDT misinterprets some parameters. This parameter means End-to-end error, the number of occurrences is stored as a RAW value and is zero - that is, the event did not occur even once. According to SMART, the drive is in quite good condition.

    Ok, thanks for your help

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the ASATA3 ports on the Aorus B450 Pro motherboard, specifically addressing issues with device detection when connecting disks. Users clarify that the ASATA3 ports function similarly to standard SATA3 ports and can support RAID configurations. However, it is noted that if an SSD is installed in the M2A slot, the ASATA ports will not operate. The manual provides guidance on connecting drives to ASATA3 ports and configuring RAID settings in the BIOS. Additionally, a follow-up question regarding a potential drive issue was addressed, confirming that the drive's SMART status indicates it is in good condition despite some misinterpretation of parameters.
