Dishwasher Beko DIN28221 - error E02, it fills with water and does not start

1dino 130896 16
Best answers

Why does a Beko DIN28221 dishwasher fill with water but stop immediately with E02 instead of starting the wash?

Check the door wiring harness first: in this case E02 was caused by three broken wires, which were repaired by soldering in short wire sections and the dishwasher started working again [#19064340] E02 is therefore not always a hose or water-supply fault, especially when the dishwasher is already taking water [#19064340] If the fault comes back and the machine stops taking water, check the Aquastop valve with an ohmmeter; no continuity on the valve terminals means the valve is defective [#19206577] The reported fix for that recurrence was replacing the Aquastop hose/valve assembly [#19207260]

As in the topic - after starting any program, washing does not start. It will make a little noise and error E02 on the display. Water appears at the bottom of the chamber so the hose and aqastop are rather working. Earlier, the LED in the bottom door, which was on during washing (sometimes flashing), was turned off. It looks like the cables connecting the door to the dishwasher. Any other suggestions?

Today I started repairing. I described the symptoms earlier.
On YT (it is a pity that it is not on the electrode) there is a video about a similar fault - broken cables were to blame in the place marked in the photo. I attach a photo of the display with the error code (the display has some damaged segments - another Beko pain, but I did not replace it)

The diagnosis was correct with three broken cables. I connected by soldering short sections of the cable. Connection cover made of heat-shrinkable sleeves, I adjusted the slightly worn cable cover and the dishwasher works :)

    Conclusions:
Error E02 is not always a damaged hose or other element of the water supply system (especially since the dishwasher was taking water). Before we pull the dishwasher out of the building, which can be troublesome (even with a different error code), it is worth checking the harness first.

    PS.
Can anyone write me how to delete errors? When I press "ON" and "PROG" together, errors are displayed, but I don't know how to reset them.

Erasing errors - If I remember correctly, the door was open, the dishwasher was turned off; press PROG and turn on the dishwasher - hold both buttons pressed until the display starts blinking and eighths appear ... Release the buttons and then the stored errors in the dishwasher will appear.
Errors are cleared automatically when the dishwasher is turned off.

    If I do then:
    - a countdown from 3 to 0 appears on the display with an acoustic signal after each digit change.
    - illuminates for a moment all display elements
    - then "1" appears and the word HFL (or similar, because not all segments are lit).
After shutdown and re-reset procedure, the errors no longer show. So this reset probably works.

There is a similar fault (in a separate thread) - I would start with the wires.

Oh, I don't think the dishwasher likes me. She worked a month and again error E02 . This time comes moments and does not retrieve water. I checked the cables again and it's OK. The first in line is the aquastop valve. I undressed the dishwasher and measured the aquastop valve terminals with an ohmmeter. The result is no "transition" on the pins marked with arrows ... Does this mean that the valve is damaged?

So connecting the valve to 230V to check it does not make sense.
Unfortunately, in Beko it is difficult to replace the valve itself (clamped hose end). I think I'll order the entire hose with a valve.

Hi colleagues, I have a similar problem since today I have a colleague E02, so I will have some fun.
However, I wanted to ask something else. Some time ago I found out that it does not heat the water, it turned out that the heater is working, and so is the thermostat. It was only in the control system that it turned out that the thermistor was burnt, and after the replacement it started to heat the water. The problem is that it does not heat every dose of water it consumes, but only the last one. For example, with the 5th program, which lasts 0:58, it uses water three times, only the last one is heated. Is this normal dishwasher operation?

As for the heating cycle, in the era of "ecology" it is possible that only the last dose of water from a given washing phase is heated :) - Here only full documentation can help.

I have an aquastop hose replaced. The dishwasher has just washed the first batch of dishes. I also repaired the diode that shines on the floor during washing.
Now, after "tuning" I put ... blue instead of red :) :) :)

I also had an E02 error, it turned out that someone turned the control for taking the washing liquid. We only use capsules. The dishwasher saw that the liquid container is empty and this is probably the reason for this error.

    PS
The second option is that the mains water pressure may have been too low, because my wife noticed that it was also the case at the time.

    Hello
I have a problem with the DIN28321 model.
I set the rinsing program (15 minutes), the dishwasher turns on the pump as always and after a while it starts taking water, it does it about 60s (each time I checked) and E02 pops up, stands there for 5 minutes and takes water again for about 30s, this cycle repeats.
The aquastop is operational, after 60s the voltage on it simply disappears. The wiring harness has been checked, it is ok. The heater is working, the washing pump is working, the temperature sensor in cold water shows 60k ohms, and when I heat it up, the resistance drops.
    Anyone can suggest something else?
    greetings

Hello. I have the same problem with these errors. After replacing the aqua stop, it worked for 2 weeks and the error came back alternately with the error E02. When I tilt by 45 degrees, water will overflow and the cycle ends, but not always. What could be the reason? Because it's already starting to irritate me. When I turn it on, you can hear that it wants to pump out the water, but it can't, and you can hear something inside, but it doesn't move.

    No water [Er: 2]
    a. Water inlet valve malfunction;
    b. Lack of water
    c. Insufficient water pressure!
    d. Wiring harness errors
    e. Faulty electronics
    f. Faulty water meter

Thanks for the specific answer. But the funniest thing about this dishwasher is that it works normally after tilting it and pouring it out.

FAQ

TL;DR: For Beko E02, 3 broken door‑harness cables are common; "E02 is not always a damaged hose"—check wiring first, then Aquastop and pressure. [Elektroda, 1dino, post #19064340]

Why it matters: Owners of Beko DIN28221/DIN28321 can fix E02 faster without removing the built‑in unit.

Quick Facts

What does error E02 mean on a Beko dishwasher?

E02 flags a no‑water condition. It is summarized as "No water [Er: 2]." Root causes include a bad inlet valve, closed tap, low mains pressure, wiring harness faults, control electronics faults, or a failed flowmeter. Start with simple checks, then test components. [Elektroda, UczenEl, post #19604178]

My Beko DIN28221 fills but won’t start and shows E02—what should I check first?

Inspect the door‑to‑body wiring harness where it flexes. One repair found three broken conductors there. They spliced short sections, insulated with heat‑shrink, and restored operation. Check this harness before pulling the built‑in appliance. [Elektroda, 1dino, post #19064340]

How do I view and clear stored error codes on DIN28xxx models?

Use service display with the door open. 1) Turn the dishwasher off and hold PROG. 2) While holding, turn it on and wait until the display blinks and eights appear. 3) Release to view codes; power off to clear them. Errors clear on power‑off. [Elektroda, glas4, post #19123655]

How do I test the Aquastop inlet valve coil?

Disconnect power and measure resistance across the valve’s two pins. An open‑circuit reading means a failed coil and a bad valve. As one expert replied, "Obvious obviousness." [Elektroda, nares, post #19206577]

On Beko models, do I need to replace the whole Aquastop hose?

Yes in practice. The valve is crimped to the hose on some Beko units, so valve‑only swaps are impractical. Ordering the complete Aquastop hose assembly solves it cleanly. [Elektroda, 1dino, post #19207260]

My dishwasher heats only the last water fill—normal?

A member reported heating only on the final fill and suggested it may be an eco behavior. Verify this in your user or service documentation for the chosen program. If wash results are fine and no heat errors show, this can be expected. [Elektroda, 1dino, post #19215696]

E02 returned weeks after replacing Aquastop—what next?

Recheck the door wiring. One owner later discovered six broken wires in the door harness. Repairing them resolved intermittent errors and restored proper operation. [Elektroda, MariuchnaWard, post #19612196]

Can low water pressure or rinse‑aid/detergent settings cause E02?

Yes, as an edge case. One user linked E02 to a changed rinse‑aid dosing control while using only capsules. They also noticed low mains pressure at the time; restore settings and verify pressure. [Elektroda, puzon92, post #19487988]

Where do Beko DIN28xxx wires tend to fail?

They fail in the cable bundle that connects the door to the dishwasher body. This section bends during every open/close cycle. Inspect that harness run first for breaks. [Elektroda, 1dino, post #19060742]

How do I repair a broken wire in the door harness?

Cut out the cracked section and splice in a short new piece. Solder the joints and cover them with heat‑shrink tubing. Adjust the sleeve so bending stress moves away from the hinge. [Elektroda, 1dino, post #19064340]

During reset I saw a 3–0 countdown and “HFL”—is that expected?

Yes. A user saw a 3‑to‑0 countdown with beeps, a full segment test, then “1” and “HFL.” After repeating the reset, the stored errors stopped displaying. [Elektroda, 1dino, post #19124381]

How long does the control try to fill before E02 appears?

On the 15‑minute rinse program, one owner measured about 60 seconds of intake before E02. The unit then waited about five minutes, and tried again for about 30 seconds. That pattern suggests a flow or control‑side issue. [Elektroda, kkk1981, post #19593574]

Does E02 always indicate a water‑supply problem?

No. One confirmed fix found three broken door wires causing E02 while water still entered. Inspect the harness before hunting plumbing or replacing parts. [Elektroda, 1dino, post #19064340]

My display segments are damaged—can I still diagnose E02?

Yes. A member had damaged display segments yet could read E02 and continue repairs. Replacing the display was not required for diagnosis or reset. [Elektroda, 1dino, post #19064331]
