I have had a Bosch WTX87K40PL dryer for a year
There is a lint filter at the bottom of the device. I wonder if it is normal that the lint is not dry, but a wet clump and the bottom of the dryer is filled with water. What worries me is that this water has no drainage and I have to remove it with a sponge or towel. This water fills the entire bottom, there is about a liter of it, maybe more. I read somewhere that water can collect at the bottom, but that much? It does not make sense. The dryer is not connected to the drain. To advertise, is that how it`s supposed to be? Or maybe I connected something wrong?

Are you sure there is no water drainage?

It is of course possible to drain the water into the sewage system, but we chose the option of collecting the water into the tank and everything is fine, I pour the water out of the tank after each use, but apart from the tank, water also collects at the very bottom of the dryer and that is strange. And there is no dedicated drain from this bottom, so I think that if it was intentional, they would have built this drain. Should it be dry there?

There is a container at the top for removing water, does it sometimes overflow, because in fact, as the manual says, there may be some water at the bottom that gets there when removing the lint filter, but not so much, and is there a pump that feeds water into the container at the top? Maybe there are some leaks related to it.

Unfortunately, I don`t know anything about the pump and the container doesn`t overflow. After each drying, it is emptied and dry from the bottom. I wonder what amount of water at the bottom of the dryer is normal, maybe it`s supposed to be like that?

The water goes through there because there is a filter. And from this place, can the water get somewhere else? Is this place tight? If so, is this a normal symptom?

So far it is not pouring outside, but removing this water every time is troublesome. If I don`t remove it right away, it starts to stink and everything gets slimy. Maybe there is someone here who has such a dryer or a similar one and can confirm to me that this is the case or not.

I have exactly the same dryer and I also collect water. There isn`t much of it, but it is there. I don`t dry it, I only wipe it with a paper towel from the edge where there is actually no water, just a slippery slime. I noticed that the more often I choose fillies, the less moist they become. The number of fillies amazes me. I specifically chose the selfclean model so that there would be as little cleaning as possible, but I still comb it every 5-6 drying cycles, and the manufacturer claims that it should be done after 20 cycles.

I called the website and it was confirmed that this is how it should be 🤷
This lint is disgusting, I take it out all the time, I certainly couldn`t wait until 20 dryings, because then it would probably take on a life of its own.

I have the same dryer and I also collect a lot of water there. I called the service center and found out that this is normal. The lady said that there is no need to collect this water, because during subsequent drying the water will be drained into the water container.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the Bosch WTX87K40PL dryer, specifically addressing concerns about wet lint accumulation and water pooling at the bottom of the unit. Users report that after a year of use, the lint filter collects wet clumps of lint, and a significant amount of water (up to a liter) accumulates at the bottom, which lacks a drainage system. Some users confirm that while a small amount of water at the bottom is normal, the volume reported seems excessive. Others mention that the dryer is designed to collect water in a tank, and service confirmations indicate that this water accumulation is expected behavior. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning the lint filter, is emphasized to prevent odor and slime buildup.
