Hello, I got a problem from a local supplier ONT Halny Hl-1GE terminal, which is supposedly in bridge mode. After connecting the router (after setting the appropriate MAC). In the router settings, the WAN gets a connection and IP 10.7.1.14x and a gateway 10.7.1.12x from automatic DHCP. In the LAN ports of the router, I have addresses 192.168.1.1. The external IP that I see, e.g. WhatISMyIP is 91.233.xxx.xxx. If I connect the computer directly to the ONT, it also gets the address 10.7.1.14x. Does this mean that the ONT is not in bridge mode, I am behind NAT?

This means that your IP provided by your operator is from a private pool.

So this ONT is not in bridge mode because then it should be "transparent" and the router should have a public address?

Looking at what IP address you get for the router's WAN interface, and what gateway address is 99.9%, the operator's router works as a bridge and you get an address from a private pool. If you want a public address, you have to contact the operator and often pay extra for such a service.

Thanks for the help. So even DDNS will not help because the ip 91.233.xxx.xxx will be seen and the host will be behind this network 10.7.1.1xx?

Well, unfortunately it is. Even in Pomerania it won't help. Public IP only.

It may be that your ISP does not offer a public IP at all.

Buying a public IP solved the problem. Thank you all for your help

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around a user experiencing issues with their Halny Hl-1GE ONT terminal, which is believed to be in bridge mode. The user connects a Synology RC2600AC router but receives a private IP address (10.7.1.14x) instead of a public one, indicating that the ONT may not be functioning in bridge mode and the user is behind NAT. Responses suggest that the ONT is likely not in bridge mode or that the ISP does not provide a public IP address. The user later confirms that purchasing a public IP resolved the issue.
