    Hello.

    Why not a transformer?
All leading manufacturers of soldering stations use transformers in their designs
    not converters.

Personally, he has a soldering station at home with a transformer inside and I think it's a better solution than
converter station. More reliable separation of the flask from the 230V mains.

    Hello.

Is the price of ~3k PLN a normal price for this soldering iron or is it a speculative pandemic price?

How much did this model (specifically TEAM T12-X) cost in the past?

For my taste, it is a soldering iron for ~ several hundred zlotys, which would be confirmed by the following link:

This is not a "pandemic" price, but a temporary lack of goods ... and due to Allegro's policy, it does not pay to remove the offer and then restore it, it is better to set a prohibitive price.

A station with a transformer power supply and a transformer soldering iron are two different things...

After all, the converter also has a transformer and there is no galvanic connection between the secondary and the primary side. It may be more emergency, but it is much smaller, lighter and cheaper.

This beauty looks like an older version of the T12 on the STC chip. They soldered the PE cable (I don't know why), added ESD Safe, added accessories, increased the price... In my opinion, no revelation.

The OSS firmware is Open Source unlike other Chinese T12's. OSS TEAM is currently on STM32 and therefore no one has them in stock at the moment.

I've been using it at work for about 3-4 months, with the same stock as in the photo in the auction. It heats up very quickly, the stock is comfortable, handy, the tip sits rigidly, it does not fly sideways (which I was afraid of). Overall, it's pretty fun to work with. As for the disadvantages, I would replace the poor cross-section of the stock cable - I do not predict a long life for it. In addition, the station has a "sleep" function, i.e. if the stock is not moved for some time, the temperature of the tip is automatically lowered. After picking up/moving the soldering iron, the soldering iron should exit this mode, unfortunately sometimes it does not want to surprise and you have to "reset" it with the switch on the back. One could still find fault with the pulse generator, which does not sin with quality and "loses" steps, but there is no tragedy (at least for now). I haven't noticed any other problems. Overall, for the price at which it was available at the time (around PLN 300), I highly recommend it.

In the blink of an eye, based on my own deduction.
