Hello, I have a small problem with PIR detectors and a microwave sensor. I have a Raspberry 3b in the loft along with 8 relays on one strip. I have the detectors and relays connected under the GPIO on the Raspberry and Domoticz installed. The problem is that with one microwave detector in the kitchen, sometimes everything is ok and sometimes when the relay goes off, the detector turns on (without any movement in the room of course). In practice, it looks like when I leave the kitchen, the light goes out and after less than a second it switches on again for 10s (this is how much I have set in Domoticz). It can do this from 2-3 times. An even bigger problem occurred when I added two PIR detectors in the bathroom. Then they all started to switch on alternately. Once 1 light in the bathroom would switch on, when it switched off, the other PIR at the other end of the bathroom would trigger, or the detector in the kitchen. Have any of you had this problem before? I don't know what causes this situation, voltage drops when the relay is switched on, or some electromagnetic interference from the relay's coil. Relays of course 5V, standard used under Arduino.

The problem is caused, yes, by electromagnetic interference, but not related to the coils, but to the contacts that the relay disconnects.

Do the sensors have an indicator that they have been activated? Because the problem could be either with the sensors (you shield them poorly from interference) or with the signal (you shield it poorly from interference).

Indirectly, the problem can be solved by adding circuits that will reduce sparks on the disconnected/connected relay contacts (quench circuits). However, if you also have poor shielding, the sensors will still be susceptible to interference (e.g. when switching other mechanical switches with which you switch a light, by plugging in a socket, lightning, etc.).

I have these two sensors. The second microwave one is inserted into the housing, Al foil applied from the top, connected to GND from the Raspberry so it doesn't catch movement from above, so you can assume it's shielded. PIR detectors without shielding. It's generally hard to tell if a detector is switching on, as I can only see it in Domoticz. I have the detectors connected with a simple twisted pair cable.

I replaced the mechanical relays with SSRs.
