    Hello,

I am thinking of changing the connected load.
Currently, I have a connection capacity set at 14 KW - my operator is PGE.

I plan to change it to 17 KW.
The building and connection is quite new.
It is a house connection and tariff G.
From what I read, the change of connection capacity may be associated with some costs.

Does anyone have any idea what it would be like in this case?
Is the G tariff free of charge and is it just a matter of the application?

This happens to be avoided ;-)

In this case, it is probably best to look for information at the source, i.e. ask in the Customer Service Center and download the relevant applications. And what does PGE say about this? Please read:

The connection capacity is increased on the basis of a connection agreement after meeting the connection conditions.

Depending on the parameters of the existing connection and the size of the requested increase in the connection capacity, higher capacity may be supplied via the existing connection or, in order to supply more capacity, the connection must be replaced or rebuilt.

For increasing the connection capacity for customers classified to the 4th and 5th connection group and the 6th connection group, connected to the network with a rated voltage of not more than 1 kV, performed at the request of the entity connected, for which there is no need to replace or reconstruct the connection, a fee is collected as the product of the rate of the fee specified in the tariff (in PLN per kW for a given type of connection) for the increase in connection power (target power minus existing power).

For the replacement or reconstruction of the connection associated with increasing the connection capacity, performed at the request of the connected entity qualified to the 4th and 5th connection group and the 6th connection group, connected to the network with a rated voltage not higher than 1 kV, a fee calculated as the sum of the actual expenditure incurred on replacement or reconstruction of the connection determined for the current connection capacity and the charge for the increase in capacity resulting from the product of the charge rate specified in the tariff, depending on the type of connection (overhead or cable) and the increase in connection capacity. This fee is calculated according to the following formula:

    Op = Nrz * Pd / Pp + Sp * (Pp-Pd)
    where:
Op - connection fee in PLN
Nrz - actual expenditure incurred on the replacement or reconstruction of the existing connection
Pp - the value of the connection power in kW, specified in the connection agreement
Pd - current connected power in kW
Sp - the fee rate [PLN / kW] adopted in accordance with the current Tariff

    And more specifically?
Overhead or cable connection? Provide more details, possibly photos of the box with the meter. The costs will be one-off only.

The fee is one-time and depends on the amount of kW by which we increase the power. In this case, it will be a 3 kW change, so you will pay for 3 kW. In Tauron, the prices are about PLN 50 for each kW of power increase. Start with an application to change the connection conditions. When you get the answer, you will have what you need to do in black and white, because sometimes it is necessary to adapt part of the installation that you own to the increased power consumption.

It is a cable connection (ground).
An ordinary box as mounted on the border of the plot.
    There is a C 25 fuse inside - I suspected.

I am interested in increasing the power so that they replace the fuse with 32.
    According to the topic: https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3658696.html

    Quote:
    1 Phase:
    1kW - 6A
    2kW-10A
    3kW-16A
    4kW-20A
    5kW-25A

    3 Phase
    1-4kW-6A
    5-6kW-10A
    7-10kW-16A
    11-13kW-20A
    14-16kW-25A
    17-21kW-32A
    22-26kW-40A
    27-32kW-50A
    33-40kW-63A
    41-52kW-80A
    53-64kW-100A
    65-81kW-125A
    82-103kW-160A
    etc, calculated from the formula.

So it is probably safe to replace it with 18KW?

In my case, the price will be for KW, i.e. if I decide on 18KW, the difference from the current 14KW is 4KW.
The cable connection is probably more expensive at this rate than the overhead connection, but even counting even PLN 100 for 1KW, it is about PLN 400 (in practice it is probably a little less for 1KW).

Anyone have a link to the current price for 1KW of the connection?

With the help of forum members, it was resolved ;)

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around increasing the house connection capacity from 14 kW to 17 kW with PGE, focusing on potential costs and the implications of tariff G. Users highlight that the increase in connection capacity may incur one-time fees based on the kW increase, with estimates around PLN 50 to PLN 100 per kW. The process involves submitting an application to change connection conditions, and it may require adjustments to the existing installation. A cable connection is noted, and users are encouraged to consult PGE's customer service for specific details and current pricing information.
