I have an ESP-WROVER-KIT board. In it, the JTAG works properly. The connection to the ESP32 is via jumpers. I disconnected them and connected outside the ESP32-PICO-V3-02 (4 JTAG lines + ground). Without changing anything in the Eclipse settings I tried to connect via JTAG. The processor is seen, but the environment reports that incorrect values have been read. Is the problem more of a hardware or software nature?
I also did a JTAG test with an adapter on FT232. Here, of course, the settings already had to be modified. However, the effect was identical to the first case.

I won't check this until Tuesday. The question you asked may indicate a software problem. From a JTAG point of view, are the ESP32 and ESP32-PICO-V3 chips distinguishable?

The ESP-WROVER-KIT has SoC version 2, while the ESP32-PICO-V3-02 has SoC version 3.

    With me it is:
    Code: Bash
Log in, to see the code
I propose to stick to this version. ;) .
