    Hello
I am building the circuit as in the diagram. I want to control the brightness of a white LED (module 200x LED 3528)
As the key transistor: AO6424A. The whole thing consumes about 1.8A when supplied with 12V
ESP8266: brightness control of a 200x LED 3528 module via PWM - AO6424A and the role of resistor R5 .
My question is: which variant will be best? A or B?
And is the resistor R5 necessary? It is supposed to accelerate the switching off of the mosfet

    Neither A nor B.
Give resistor R13 and a diode between 12V and the drain.
If you want faster mosfet switching, add a simple driver on one PNP transistor and diode or two NPN and PNP transistors.

    So something like this:
ESP8266: brightness control of a 200x LED 3528 module via PWM - AO6424A and the role of resistor R5 .

What do you have in mind? Can you provide an example?
My circuit is to control lighting. The switching speed of the mosfet is not the critical issue here. The idea is that if the PWM signal is 0%, the LED should not "glow".

Well, this is already better. Only since it's a 12V LED module this resistor is not really needed.

Type in Simple mosfet driver, there are plenty of schematics to choose from.

Here you can educate yourself a little.
