What good 30V/10A laboratory or workshop power supply can I buy for up to 300 PLN?

For 300 PLN, a new 30V/10A lab power supply is unrealistic; the thread suggests buying a used branded unit or settling for a 30V/5A model such as the ZHIAOXIN RXN-305D, which fits the budget and was described as having good current limiting and short-circuit behavior [#19993709] [#19994979] [#20443121] Several replies note that, for hobby electronics, two 5A supplies are often more useful than one 10A supply [#19994588] [#19995394] If you want a new switch-mode option, the Wanptek KPS305DF was quoted at about 69 USD, just under 300 PLN, while the 30V/10A KPS3010DF was about 487 PLN [#19994588] For used gear, look for Philips, Xantrex, or Elind units at auctions, as 10A current at this price is usually found only second-hand [#19993709]

I've been using one for a while now; https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3803317.html#19424863 I was tempted to set parameters from the keyboard :D . For higher power I have some other DIYs. I was a bit unsure how the interference would be (after all, it's a combination of a switching power supply and analogue regulation) but it's ok.

Totally doesn't fit your guidelines, it has a max of 3A, for car installations it doesn't make a lot of sense, as does the possibility of connecting it in series to get 60V.
Maybe when playing with some amplifiers or opamps it's ok, but for a car it's a worse solution than what I've given.

If you can find one somewhere I recommend the xantrex hpd30-10, it's a piece of good old electronics.
I bought them a couple of years ago at 400PLN each, I have a total of four xantrexes two on trafo and two hpd and this is already a piece of equipment for years.
They have some adventures with meter readings floating (by about 0.1V e.g.) during long operation, but the voltages at the outputs stand firmly at the set values.

When I bought my current power supplies, I gave my old ones away to friends, and now I'd like some garage-quality ones myself, and will probably end up with Chinese ones too. Because it's totally not worth it to assemble one myself these days.

Topic summary

✨ The discussion revolves around recommendations for a 30V, 10A laboratory power supply within a budget of 300 PLN. Users express skepticism about finding new units at this price, suggesting that used or auctioned equipment may be the best option. Brands like Philips, Xantrex, and Elind are mentioned as reliable choices. Several users recommend specific models such as the Wanptek KPS3010DF and RXN-305D, highlighting their performance and features. The conversation also touches on the practicality of having multiple lower-rated power supplies instead of one high-capacity unit, with some users advocating for 5A supplies for typical applications. Concerns about the quality and longevity of cheaper models, particularly those from Chinese manufacturers, are also raised.
