Hello, I am encountering error 2 on the device in the title. The motor from the grinder is tested OK, it is clean, on the main board, the related components are OK (triac, resistors, diodes). The device heats the water, produces hot water (steam), the self-test is OK. If I want to make a coffee, it goes wrong almost instantly. Finally, does anyone know what error 02 is for this model? Everywhere they talk only about error 01, 03... Thank you.

Grinder error. There are two options. Either the board or the motor.

OK. Thank you. The motor is checked and is OK. It remains the mainboard. I will post the result when I reach the end.

Check the voltage to the grinder. The grinder may seem good and not work.

    Hello,
I am struggling with a similar problem - error "2" on the display - latte go machine EP5335 - very similar.
I have checked the motor, cleaned the commutator and brushes - they are ok, however when grinding, even though it does the grinding for 5 seconds there is a no coffee symbol on the display. Physically the coffee is there and it even pours it into the brewer, but of course after the no coffee message the further process is cancelled.
It looks as if it doesn't see the coffee at all, hence my question, how is the information about the presence of coffee implemented? Is there a sensor or is the load on the motor simply measured during grinding?

Thank you for any information contributing to the solution of the problem.

    PS
now I see there is a similar topic with the same issue but for another older model which looks quite similar to the Latte Go, probably the guts are the same.

The mill itself draws too much current. If you have a regulated power supply then plug it in and measure the current draw. Set the fixed voltage to 24V or higher

At 24V DC the current consumption is about 50-55mA, of course with no coffee load so "empty". I have noticed that sometimes I have to help it mechanically to get it to work, I think this is due to too little power being applied to the power supply or maybe a problem with the commutator and brushes?
Measuring the current consumption when the motor is connected to its source in the machine the current jumps between 90 - 105mA for those 5 seconds of operation.

I am posting a video of the measurements on a 24V supply.

All indications are that the motor is to be replaced after all. After fitting it to the coffee machine, it sometimes displays error 2 (i.e. it can't start), and when the motor with the grinder starts one time, it still reports "no coffee" with the bean feeder filled.

So back to the topic, after replacing the motor with a new one, the operation of the mill is correct, this part of the fault is resolved but another problem has arisen:
Lack of adequate water/coffee flow. It looks as if the pump is clogged or blocked. I removed the filter, filled the tank with water and ran the rinse in service mode - it seems OK, no error displays, but when I want to make coffee, the water/coffee does not flow or only a few drops, sometimes a quarter cup.

    Update:
I had to do a solid flush a dozen times and I think it is ok now, the pump was vented. I did the venting without the filter. The cause could also be the filter (non-original), I read somewhere that it can cause airing problems. To sum up, everything is now ok, the coffee machine works properly.

Topic summary

The discussion revolves around the Saeco Philips EP3550 coffee machine, specifically addressing the occurrence of error 2. The user has confirmed that the grinder motor is functioning properly and that the mainboard components (triac, resistors, diodes) are intact. Despite the device heating water and passing self-tests, it fails to brew coffee, triggering error 2. Responses suggest checking the voltage to the grinder, as it may appear operational but still malfunction. Another user experiencing the same error noted that disassembling and reassembling the machine temporarily resolved the issue before error 2 reappeared, prompting inquiries for further troubleshooting tips.
